[Bug 579866] Re: 10.04 and 10.10 Install formatted ext3 partition (data lost)
This happened to me too yesterday. I don't recall any warning messages just a greyed out format box. I did see it but I thought I will be asked before proceeding. Older versions of ubuntu installers always used to ask for confirmation. Where did that go? I lost about 200GB irreplaceable data and NO BACKUP. [Bug 231282] Re: VLC problem with ISO DVD Files
This is not a bug but a setting of the launch command. Sorry for posting from my end.. MMarking, try this: To change the launch command for vlc: Right click on Applications -> Edit menus -> Choose sound and video on left side, right click on vlc on right side -> Properties and change command to this: vlc %mfrom vlc %U (or %F) I guess what it does is it makes vlc open the file as DVD with menus instead of a simple DVD. Or something like that.. Let's try posting these kind of things on ubuntuforums before. We might get a reply quicker especially if it's not really a bug. and how can I check that? Is this a problem with HAL then, rather than an acpi or g-p-m issue? Hi Simon, Thanks for your reply! It doesn't respond to the power button, but does to all the other buttons. I run an i386 install as well, it works there perfect. [Bug 62619] Re: "interactive" option doesn't work
On my Compaq Presario M2000Z the power button is not even recognized by gnome-power-management (no event log), also the lid button doesn't function other than blanking the screen.
