[Bug 1902440] Re: X server boot crash after system update

2020-11-22 Thread Laszlo Toth
I have just realized that several directories in root directory are just links
to another /usr directories. That means to me the last update script went wrong
and not successfully updates my system. (see attached directories.txt) What
shall I do? I have several software installed and a lot of my documents &
configuration files can be found in my /system directories. I would like to
correct the present system not reinstall it from the scratch.
Please advise something.
Rigth after a system update via Apt-get at the next boot the / partition
/dev/sda2 was checked for bad sectors. The result is the / is clean. But no
next step, the previous installed & configured X system is not able to start. I
am able switch to the next consoles & log in, the character based Ubuntu is
working but the X server does not work.

2020-09-24 Thread Laszlo Toth
OK, thanks.

What are the mentioned PPAs & packages, applications? Which log file
contains the list?

Is it necessary to get rid of them?

What is the solution? Please provide a step-by-step description. Thanks.
Regards
L.

HI Ken,
As you probably know we have Software update app.

The interesting settings are:

Before the upgrade attempt I always made a backup. For the details and the
error messages please see the attached ticket materials. Thanks.
I guess we will run out of time if the frequency remains the same and no
solution.
Best regards,
  Laci.

2010-04-28 Thread Laszlo Toth
Hi Jeremy,

Thank you to the react. I checked the link that you advised:
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/
but I couldn't find the Remix version.

I think, till now isn't any never version of it.
I will follow it with attention.

Regards,
Laszlo
