[Bug 1902440] Re: X server boot crash after system update
I have just realized that several directories in root directory are just links to another /usr directories. That means to me the last update script went wrong and not successfully updates my system. (see attached directories.txt) What shall I do? I have several software installed and a lot of my documents & configuration files can be found in my /system directories. I would like to correct the present system not reinstall it from the scratch. Please advise something. Rigth after a system update via Apt-get at the next boot the / partition /dev/sda2 was checked for bad sectors. The result is the / is clean. But no next step, the previous installed & configured X system is not able to start. I am able switch to the next consoles & log in, the character based Ubuntu is working but the X server does not work. ** Attachment added: "directory links" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1902440/+attachment/5436886/+files/directories.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1902440 Title: X server boot crash after system update To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1902440/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
