[Bug 1631980] Re: Steam not able to see network

2016-12-12 Thread Le Gluon Du Net
Two bugs were open on Valve Github about this:
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/4661
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/4743
But they are are now closed: this is not a Steam bug, but Debian/Ubuntu package
dependency bug.

[Bug 1631980] Re: Steam not able to see network

2016-12-12 Thread Le Gluon Du Net
I also encountered this bug on Ubuntu Zesty 17.04 after upgraded from 16.10:
Steam did not find network, I couldn't download games or consult messages.
I follow #3 Joe Barnett's solution, I installed libnss-resolve:i386 and it
resolved the bug.
To resolve definitly this bug, Ubuntu should install libnss-resolve:i386 when
Steam is installed.
Why there is no dependency between Steam and libnss-resolve:i386 packages?

- On the desktop, awn, gnome panel it's the xorg default.
+ since I'm on lucid, my cursor theme is not very functionnal: it depends on
the application, the cursor is the xorg default or, in firefox, the cursor
theme.
+  On the desktop, awn, gnome panel it's the xorg default.
If I change the cursor theme with another, same bug, so it's not the theme
but XOrg that doesn't use the cursor theme correctly.
I hope this help you to give Ubuntu better and better ;-)
  Thanks.

[Bug 728781] Re: ugly plymouth animation during booting with nvidia driver

2015-01-19 Thread Le Gluon Du Net
This bug is still present in Ubuntu 14.04. It appears when you install
NVIDIA proprietary drivers, even if they are installed from the
official Ubuntu repositories. Ubuntu is used by a large population,
today this bug is easy to resolve, why you just don't add this line to
grub by default:

GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=auto

or at less add it to the NVIDIA drivers installatio nscript from the
official Ubuntu repositories.

[Bug 1288706] Re: gnome-shell can not launch, ask for libwayland-egl.so.1

2014-03-18 Thread Le Gluon Du Net
I uninstalled

sudo apt-get remove libhybris

and

sudo apt-get autoremove

Now gnome-shell and other application launch again without ask for
libwayland-egl.so.1.

explanation: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2209731

libhybris library was installed with Unity 8, when I wanted to test it.
But when I uninstalled unity 8, this library was not uninstalled and cause
gnome-shell (and other application) didn't launch and asked for
libwayland-egl.so.1.

[Bug 1104476] Re: Network manager cannot connect to WPA2/PEAP/MSCHAPv2 network without CA_Certificate

2013-09-11 Thread Le Gluon Du Net
Hello,

on Ubuntu raring 13.04, I installed this unstrusted Networkmanager PPA:

https://launchpad.net/~mathieu-tl/+archive/nm

then I edit all your Wifi connection in /etc/NetworkManager/system-
connections/ and replace system-ca-certs=true by system-ca-
certs=false and all my WPA2 enterprise work again.

The bug is still present on saucy (system-ca-certs=true by default, even if you
choose not.

Now we have a workaround but at each computer restart, you have to use the
workaround again.
Because at each restart Network-Manager add the line system-ca-certs=true
again...
Very annoying bug and very improductive at work.

Thank you very much Eduard Gotwin, more than one month I could not connect to
the wifi at work.
As you said I deleted the line
system-ca-certs=true
and I could connect again at all my wpa2 enterprise WIFI network.
This bug is very critical as it touches enterprise wifi network, it should be
corrected as soon as possible.

[Bug 1156479] Re: ext4 error

2013-03-18 Thread Le Gluon Du Net
In fact at each boot Ubuntu said it has to clean my hard disc...then,
after variable time of using it, my filesystem was suddenly mount read-
only, I could no more use Firefox or other applicatio nwich needed to
write on hard disk. In dmesg, I have a lot of lines about ext4 errors.

in first I thought about a hard disk failure so I download UBM and did
a lot of test. But all the software are ok that my hard disk is clean.

Secondly I thought about an ext4 bug, I searched on the web and I found
this:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1063354/comments/105

i tested it, it works!!!

I join you my dmesg log, if it could help you to resolve this very
annoying bug.

Thanks for your help.

[Bug 1103953] Re: libreoffice freeze when open or save network file

2013-01-24 Thread Le Gluon Du Net
When libreoffice freeze, I can not kill it with kill -9 command line until I
kill gvfsd-smb before.
Other thing: I install gnumeric and it works with my network files, so this bug
freeze would be more relative to Libreoffice and gvfsd-smb interaction?
