[Bug 700138] Re: Cannot resume from suspend
Thank you Jeremy. I would be happy to try the latest ISOs, although this is a prediction machine and it will likely be a few weeks before I can actually wipe everything and try it. (Well, unless the liveCD is capable of suspending a machine, I will certainly try that). Thank you for the other idea. I will tries these ASAP. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/700138 Title: Cannot resume from suspend -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 700138] [NEW] Cannot resume from suspend
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: upstart In the Sony Vaio VPC EB 11fm, on ubuntu 10.10 specifically (10.04 worked fine), you cannot suspend the machine, or more specifically, you cannot resume from a suspend. Hitting the suspend button puts the computer in the usual low level power statue as expected, but when the power button is pressed to resume the machine, it boots up as if it was shut down. I'm not certain if it's upstart, or a kernel bug that would cause this, but I've now gone through several kernels (although all of them from the default update channel), and the problem seems to persist. Again, it worked fine in ubuntu 10.04. [Bug 698873] [NEW] Screen Brightness not working in Sony Vaio
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg I thought I already submitted this bug, but I can't find it anywhere on my profile. The screen brightness buttons don't work in ubuntu 10.10. I'm not sure what package this is in, but I would imagine it's in xorg. Note though that when I unplug the machine, the screen brightness dims (unless I uncheck it in the power manager), and when I turn up and down the brightness nob in the power manager, it does go up and down, but the screen will not become brighter/dimmer when pressing the command keys to do so. (So maybe it's just an issue with the key bindings?). [Bug 554364] [NEW] [Realtek ALC269] Playback problem [Sony Vaio VPCEB11FM] [Possible Solution Included
Public bug reported: No audio comes out of the speakers in the Sony VAIO VPCEB11FM, except for a nearly inaudible ammount when the headphones are plugged in, and the audio is up to it's max. However, with the HDA Analyzer, found here: http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/HDA_Analyzer the problem was related to Pin 19 (what that means, I don't really know). Installing linux-backports-modules-alsa-lucid-generic didn't work. Again though, the diff in my comment did...although I have to redo it every time I reboot. -- [Realtek ID 275] No audio Sony VAIO VPCs111FM Lucid A2 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/525149 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 525149] Re: [Realtek ID 275] No audio Sony VAIO VPCs111FM Lucid A2
I can't install the package linux-backports-modules-alsa-lucid-generic, it gives the following error: The following packages have unmet dependencies: linux-backports-modules-alsa-lucid-generic: Depends: linux-backports-modules-alsa-2.6.32-17-generic but it is not installable E: Broken packages And I can't install linux-backports-modules-alsa-2.6.32-17-generic, as there is no installation candidate. I was get a temporary fix, by downloading this: http://www.alsa- project.org/main/index.php/HDA_Analyzer And switching node 19:VRef, from 80 to HIZ. However, it resets everytime the machine reboots. -- [Realtek ID 275] No audio Sony VAIO VPCs111FM Lucid A2 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/525149 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
