[Bug 1302241] [NEW] libcdio should be 0.92

2014-04-03 Thread Leo B
Public bug reported:

Description of problem:

Relevant to virtualization / devops / automation, libcdio from 0.83 to
0.90 it cannot read Linux .iso files that use Rock Ridge for file name
encoding.

With libcdio up to 0.90 iso-read gives bad results for .iso files 4GB.
Relevant to virtualization / devops / automation, some Linux distro
images are that large.

Steps to reproduce problem:

1. From bug report https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/index.php?39373 get
most recent file iso-read-test.sh at
https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/download.php?file_id=30554

2. Run that file either plain or with a single parameter 5000, such as
./iso-read-test.sh
./iso-read-test.sh 5000

3. At the end of output see a lot of read DEFECT where you should see
nothing but read back OK.

Actual results:

At the end of output see a lot of read DEFECT.

Expected results:

You should see nothing but read back OK.

Additional info:

There were more than one problems in libcdio 0.90, not just the 4G
limit. E.g. Rock Ridge support (often needed for Linux) wasn't compiled
in by default.

libcdio 0.92 fixes a lot of problems, and has been out for several
months, and has been working well so far.

Relevant fixes cannot be isolated for patching 0.83.

There also is a discussion in docs files at https://github.com/srguiwiz
/nrvr-commander/blob/master/docs/which-version-iso-read.txt

One example use at https://github.com/srguiwiz/nrvr-commander but this
affects any attempt to make virtual machines from distro image .iso
files as plain user.

An Ubuntu LTS should release with a healthy libcdio 0.92.

** Affects: libcdio (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 1159589] Re: When applying software updates, updater window disappears

2014-01-03 Thread Leo B.
I have been observing a similar bug on both 13.04 and 13.10 on a Lenovo
X220 (mobile Core i7 w/2 cores @ 2.7 Ghz and 8 GB RAM).

[Bug 989588] Re: update-manager popup is shown on launcher and alt-tab list but window doesn't show up

2014-01-03 Thread Leo B.
I am observing this bug since 13.04. If I start update-manger via a
python debugger (pdb), it works and shows its windows properly, although
it's slow as hell. If started normally, it doesn't show its window no
matter if it has started automatically or manually. A similar bug seems
to affect automated starts of deja-dup since 13.10.

[Bug 625670] Re: Not all desktop items are themed

2011-03-21 Thread Leo B.
This bug is affecting both my desktop at home (recent i5 and SSD) and my
laptop at work (2 years old Thinkpad T400 with Core2Duo and normal HDD).
The problem first appeared yesterday. Seems to be unrelated to iX-gen
processors or SSDs, then.

[Bug 164109] Re: eog crashed with SIGSEGV

2007-12-15 Thread Leo B.
Here is an example of a JPEG file that kills eog 2.20.1/x86_64. The image
passes the test by jpeginfo and can be displayed by any other program I've
tried.
Running jpegoptim on it helps.
