Upon installing Ubuntu17.10 the grub package failed to install, notifying me 
that Ubuntu would not be able to boot after the installation was finished.

Amd ryzen 1300x
Msi b350 pc mate mobo
8gb ram
gtx 1060
250 gb hitachi HDD

this is while installing the 64bit variant.
