[Bug 1969939] Re: puppet 5 package incompatible with ruby 3 / ubuntu 22.04

2022-06-03 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'll give a chance to others to test
it over the weekend, if I get no negative feedback until Monday I'll be
uploading this fix to kinetic and SRU it to jammy.

[Bug 1976307] Re: Stack smashing in gamatronic driver

2022-05-31 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
Thanks for reporting this bug Claudio.

As you might have expected I was not able to reproduce it locally. After
checking the the core dump, we can see the crash happened when executing
the sec_poll function in drivers/gamatronic.c file. I went through the
upstream history of this file and I found some commits in the latest
version (2.8.0) which might fix this issue for you.

Since version 2.8.0 is not even in Debian yet, I prepared a "dirty"
package (removed some docs and manpages) and put it in this PPA:

https://launchpad.net/~lucaskanashiro/+archive/ubuntu/nut

Could you please try to test it and see if it fixes this issue for you?
If yes, we can try to dig into those upstream commits and then find what
is needed to SRU to jammy.

[Bug 1976401] [NEW] cards are not shown, i.e. I cannot use the program as intended (or at all)

2022-05-31 Thread Lucas Eichhorn
Public bug reported:

3)4)
This is a spaced repetition program, i.e. it saves flash cards and shows them
one by one on a certain schedule. When I open the program it only shows on the
interface how many cards are due. I expect the program to show the cards
correctly so I see all the content. This is not the case, I cannot see any
question/content of the card. I have contacted the owner and he suggests it
might be a problem with the current Ubuntu version or on the official package
side.

[Bug 1969939] Re: puppet 5 package incompatible with ruby 3 / ubuntu 22.04

2022-05-31 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
Hi all,

I prepared a patch myself to fix this. Could you please test the package
in this PPA?

This is a workaround and I'd like to make sure this is not impacting
anything else. Please, report back with your findings. Once we get
enough feedback I'll move forward to push this into the archive.

[Bug 1975868] [NEW] [RM] removed in Debian testing and blocking libdigest-bcrypt-perl

2022-05-26 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
Public bug reported:

libdancer2-plugin-passphrase-perl was removed from Debian testing in
February during the Perl transition [1], and it is blocking libdigest-
bcrypt-perl migration in kinetic for more than 120 days. This package is
also blocked in Debian unstable for more than 765 days [2]. This is a
leaf package, I believe we should remove it from kinetic until it gets
in better shape.

[Bug 1707290] Re: Removing package leaves motd script in place, renders incorrect motd

2022-05-25 Thread Lucas Albuquerque Medeiros de Moura
We no longer ship the 99-esm file, so we shouldn't be affected by this issue
anymore.
Additionally, I have double checked the new update-motd scripts we deliver and
I can confirm they will not break the system if the user just removes the
packages, since we have a check that prevent invalid files from being read, for
example, this is the output of our 88-esm-announce script:

```
#!/bin/sh
stamp="/var/lib/ubuntu-advantage/messages/motd-esm-announce"
[ ! -r "$stamp" ] || cat "$stamp"
```

Because of that, I am marking this bug as invalid for the current
version of UA.

As you can see in comment #17, I have not been able to reproduce the

[Bug 1975496] Re: package openssh-server 1:8.2p1-4ubuntu0.5 failed to install/upgrade: installed openssh-server package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1

2022-05-24 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and trying to make Ubuntu
better.

From the sshd logs in the description we can see:

Error: command ['/usr/sbin/sshd', '-T'] failed with exit code 255:
/etc/ssh/sshd_config: line 125: Bad configuration option: Host
 /etc/ssh/sshd_config: line 126: Bad configuration option: ForwardX11
/etc/ssh/sshd_config: terminating, 2 bad configuration options

Which tells us that your sshd_config file has some bad configuration on
line 125 and 126. Please, revisit your configuration file and fix it up.

Since it seems likely to me that this is a local configuration problem,
rather than a bug in Ubuntu, I am marking this bug as 'Incomplete'.

However, if you believe that this is really a bug in Ubuntu, then we would
be grateful if you would provide a more complete description of the problem
with steps to reproduce, explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu
rather than a problem specific to your system, and then change the bug
status back to "New".

[Bug 1974251] Re: libapache2-mod-shib module doesn't work with 2.4.52

2022-05-24 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
Considering that version 2.4.53 is fixed, this should land in Kinetic
soon. In order to fix this issue in Jammy, we need to follow the SRU
process [1], and to do that we would need to have a test case with
reproduction steps. Another thing that is needed here is to bisect the
changes between 2.4.52 and 2.4.53 to find the specific fix for this
issue, and backport it to the Jammy version.

[Bug 1975523] [NEW] [MIR] Promote to main in Jammy and Kinetic

2022-05-23 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
Public bug reported:

[Availability]

ruby-webrick is already in Ubuntu universe since Jammy. It is an arch:all
package and it builds fine in amd64, all tests pass successfully. Here its LP
page:

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ruby-webrick

[Rationale]

This ruby gem was embedded in the ruby interpreter until ruby 2.7. In ruby 3.0,
it was removed from the interpreter source tree by upstream decision and
packaged separetely. Many packages still rely on it, and it is a low
maintanence package.

The most important package depending on it is rubygems which is in main.
Because that happens since Jammy we should promote ruby-webrick in Jammy and
Kinetic. pcs is another package which its promotion to main is planned for this
cycle and depends on it.

[Security]

Searching for ruby-webrick the following was found:

* 26 CVEs (most of them are old issues)

http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvekey.cgi?keyword=webrick

* No CVEs in the Ubuntu tracker (the package was introduced in Jammy only and
most of issues are older than that):

https://ubuntu.com/security/cves?package=ruby-webrick

The package itself does not provide any binary. However, this is a library that
allows one to set up your own HTTP server, so the script/software written using
this library can open ports for instance, but I do not think this is a concern
regarding the MIR process.

[Quality assurance - function/usage]

The package works well right after installation. The user needs to understand
the library API and that is it.

[Quality assurance - maintenance]

ruby-webrick upstream maintainers do not seem so responsive in the few upstream
bugs that are filed on Github:

https://github.com/ruby/webrick/issues

However, most of them do not seem to be critical. There is one OpenSSL 3
specific issue that might be impacting Ubuntu but no one found that yet to file
a bug:

https://github.com/ruby/webrick/issues/90

But it seems they are responsive when the problem is security related. Some of
the maintainers are also ruby interpreter maintainers.

There is no bug reported against Debian nor Ubuntu.

[Quality assurance - testing]

Upstream provides a comprehensive test suite which is executed during package
build time. The same set of tests are executed using autopkgtest, this is
triggered by ruby autodep8.

This is an arch:all package and it has been building fine since it was
introduced in Ubuntu:

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ruby-
webrick/1.7.0-3/+build/22464915

autopkgtest is passing in all supported architectures:

https://autopkgtest.ubuntu.com/packages/ruby-webrick

[Quality assurance - packaging]

The package contains a working debian/watch file. Nothing important reported by
lintian, no overrides also. This is a straightforward packages, similar to most
ruby gems we have packaged in the archive.

[UI standards]

This is a library, no need to translation, desktop files, or anything UI
related.

[Dependencies]

The only two build dependencies it has is debhelper-compat and gem2deb, gem2deb
is in universe but it is used to build most of ruby packages. No runtime
dependency apart from regular ruby.

[Standards compliance]

This package correctly follows FHS and Debian Policy.

[Maintenance/Owner]

This package will be owned by the Server team since we already maintain the
ruby stack. This package is well maintained in Debian, so this is low effort in
Ubuntu since it is a sync. The Server team is not yet subscribed to the
package, but will subscribe before promotion.

[Bug 1964025] Re: Do not support OpenSSL 3

2022-05-23 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
No, you do not need to enable any repository. ruby-net-
ssh/1:6.1.0-2ubuntu0.1 landed in jammy-updates which should be enabled
by default on your system.

The link to the stackoverflow page you sent is old, and at that time it
was broken. This fix was even acknowledged on an upstream issue:

[Bug 1973217] Re: package openssh-server 1:8.2p1-4ubuntu0.5 failed to install/upgrade: installed openssh-server package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1

2022-05-17 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
Thanks for taking the time to file this bug and trying to make Ubuntu
better.

From the attached logs:

May 12 08:50:07 paradise sshd[59551]: /etc/ssh/sshd_config: line 125: Bad
configuration option: Host
May 12 08:50:07 paradise sshd[59551]: /etc/ssh/sshd_config: line 126: Bad
configuration option: ForwardX11
May 12 08:50:07 paradise sshd[59551]: /etc/ssh/sshd_config: terminating, 2 bad
configuration options

Which tells us that this is a local configuration issue. The Host and
ForwardX11 options are causing the issue, avoiding the service to start.

2022-05-17 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
Thanks for taking the time to file this bug and trying to make Ubuntu
better.

I see you are using the option NO_AUTO_CREATE_USER in sql_mode, as you
can see here [1] this is no more supported in MySQL 8 which is the
version we have in Ubuntu 20.04. So to fix your issue you need to remove
that option. Please review all your configuration to make sure it is
supported in MySQL 8.

2022-05-13 Thread Lucas Albuquerque Medeiros de Moura
Hi Daevid,

Looking at the dpkg logs, it seems that we are trying to import the yaml
module from an incorrect path:

File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/uaclient/config.py", line 11, in
  import yaml
File "/root/.local/lib/python2.7/site-packages/yaml/__init__.py", line 2, in

  from error import *

Instead of importing it from the standard python path, we are using the
path /root/.local/lib/python2.7/. How was the python yaml module
installed on the system ?

PS: I am marking this issue as incomplete just until you provide that
install information. After that, we can check what is the path to fix

[Bug 1972730] Re: WARNING: crmadmin -S unexpected output

2022-05-11 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
Thanks for working with upstream to fix this. Would you be willing to
backport this fix to Jammy? Or do you prefer me to do it?

For Kinetic we will be moving to the newer version (4.4.0 as upstream
suggested) so this will not be an issue. I am going to talk to the
Debian maintainer to see if we can get version 4.4.0 in unstable so we
can merge it.

2022-05-11 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
Thanks for taking the time to file this bug and trying to make Ubuntu
better.

I was not able to reproduce the issue you reported locally. Could you
please describe the previous status of you system and what did you do to
get into this error? That could help us understand what happened here.

I am setting this bug to Incomplete, once you add more information
please set it back to New and we will take a look again.

[Bug 1971509] Re: qemu/kvm win10 client cannot upgrade to win11

2022-05-11 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
@peterzay did you try to boot the system when you got to the screen you
attached in comment #16? This is the UEFI interactive shell, it does not
look like a boot error. You might try to change to the UEFI directory,
maybe /EFI/BOOT, and execute the *.efi file in there. This might be a
matter of boot order.

[Bug 1969939] Re: puppet 5 package incompatible with ruby 3 / ubuntu 22.04

2022-05-09 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
To be honest, the bug initially reported here is fixed, I just tried
what is described in the Test Plan section and it works:

root@puppet-test:~# dpkg -l puppet
Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge/Hold

root@puppet-test:~# ls /tmp/link-to-motd -las

The issue you are facing regarding to_sym is another thing, I am trying to
identify what is happening. I took what Serge did (comment #11) but I was not
able to reproduce the issue:

root@puppet-test:~# cat test.pp
file { '/etc/localtime':
ensure => 'link',
target => $osfamily ? {
'Debian' =>
'/usr/share/zoneinfo/posix/America/Los_Angeles',
default => '/usr/share/zoneinfo/America/Los_Angeles',
}
}
root@puppet-test:~# puppet apply test.pp

0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 45 May  9 13:21 /etc/localtime ->
/usr/share/zoneinfo/posix/America/Los_Angeles

How exactly are you running your manifests? I'd need to reproduce the
problem locally to keep investigating. Ideally, the simplest manifest
needed to trigger this issue.

According to the Gemfile, msgpack is not a mandatory dependency, so in
theory the lack of ruby-msgpack should not be a big deal. From Gemfile:

[Bug 1972026] Re: ua status incorrectly lists reboot required for pre-built FIPS cloud image

2022-05-09 Thread Lucas Albuquerque Medeiros de Moura
Hi Eric,

No, the problem here is that the FIPS message you are seeing:
Reboot to FIPS kernel required

Is not being properly removed by our tool. We will fix this in a subsequent
release of UA.
Not that this doesn't cause the lsb_release issue you mentioned at all.
Additionally, the lsb_release command output is not related to
ubuntu-advantage-tools at all.

Also, `lsb_release` source the information from /etc/lsb-release, which
fields identify the OS distribution and FIPS enablement is not a
separate OS product. However, we can discuss this more if needed

We have run the full ubuntu-advantage-tools integration test suite
against the version in -proposed. The results are attached. All tests
passed.

You can verify the correct version was used by checking the output of
the first test in each file, which prints the version number.

I am marking the verification done for this SRU.

Thanks for testing the proposed package Adrián. Unfortunately, the
output you presented does not help much in identifying the root cause of
the error you got. Could you please try to pass '--verbose' and '--
debug' to see if we get more useful information? Just to make sure, by
the end of the command execution you got return code 0, right? Is the
state of the system the same as expected by you? Or something is
missing?

[Bug 1959581] Re: OCFS2 intermittently not mountable on a second Node in Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS

2022-05-03 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
Thanks for getting back to us with more information Norbert.

I went through the Debian bug and it seems to be a linux bug instead of
ocfs2-tools one. The Debian maintainer came to a conclusion that this
commit needs to be included in the linux build:

From de19433423c7bedabbd4f9a25f7dbc62c5e78921 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001
From: Joseph Qi
Subject: ocfs2: fix crash when mount with quota enabled

From your comment, the ocfs2 modules are available only in linux-
modules-extra-5.13.0-1027-oracle. I'd need to investigate that, and I do
not know how the Oracle images are built to be honest. I'll take a look
at that and get back to you.

After a more in-deep analysis and trying to backport the patches

version we have in the archive. The following patches will be added to
Kinectic, and later on backported to Jammy:

* PUP-10537 (https://tickets.puppetlabs.com/browse/PUP-10537)

This is the upstream fix for the issue you mentioned. This is the

Thanks for the reply Hadmut. We should indeed try to fix the current
version we have in Ubuntu while Debian maintainers sort out the update
to a newer version.

What you described is indeed one of the issue we have with version
5.5.22-4, in Jammy and Kinetic. I did some investigation in the upstream

this version:

* PUP-11439 (https://tickets.puppetlabs.com/browse/PUP-11439)

This issue is also related to OpenSSL 3 but it does not have a fix
commited. Checking the mentioned file I also found PUP-11082 which needs
more careful consideration and it might be worth backporting it. This is
the commit: https://github.com/puppetlabs/puppet/commit/78712feb5dd5456

[Bug 1874719] Re: [SRU] Use the hostname as the node name instead of hardcoded 'node1'

2022-04-27 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
Thanks for taking a look at this proposed change Robie. The behavior we
are trying to backport to Focal is already present in all supported
releases, Focal is the only one that differs at the moment.

What you said is indeed true, the default configuration file is not
production ready to most of the use cases I believe. I tried to backport
it to keep the same behavior across all the releases (the change is just
commenting out a single line in the config file) but TBH I also do not
think it will benefit many users already running Focal. It might benefit
some users upgrading from Bionic to Focal since the behavior would be
the same. It'd be great to see James' opinion about this.

And after applying this change in Jammy I also needed to add some delta
to some other packages fixing DEP-8 tests which were already expecting
the hardcoded 'node1' default node name. The Debian maintainer is not
willing to accept this change also, so the maintenance cost to keep this
change is getting higher. Maybe we should reconsider how useful it is to
keep this change as a Ubuntu delta for the future cycles.

[Bug 1969809] Re: ua fails if any package removed from server

2022-04-27 Thread Lucas Albuquerque Medeiros de Moura
Hi cs-huit, thanks for reporting this issue.

Looking at the logs this seems like a real bug on UA regarding the ua fix
command.
I will make a PR that address this issue.

However, on the meantime, if you want to keep those packages, please
run:

$ ua enable esm-infra

And then run:

$ ua fix USN-4994-2

It should not prompt you anymore for enabling esm-infra and the command
should finish without other exceptions.

But please let me know if doing that still cause some issues.

[Bug 1970153] Re: python3-mako depends on pkg-resources

2022-04-26 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
Thanks for taking the time to file this bug and trying to make Ubuntu
better.

python3-pkg-resources should indeed be a runtime dependency of
python3-mako, at least for the current version we have in the archive
which is 1.1.3. In this version, pkg_resources is conditionally
imported, I think this is the reason why no one complained about it so
far:

mako/util.py-33-else:
mako/util.py:34:import pkg_resources
mako/util.py-35-
mako/util.py:36:for impl in
pkg_resources.iter_entry_points(self.group, name):
mako/util.py-37-self.impls[name] = impl.load
mako/util.py-38-return impl.load()

https://github.com/sqlalchemy/mako/blob/rel_1_1_3/mako/util.py#L30-L44

In the latest upstream version (1.2.0), pkg_resources is no more used:

.. change::
:tags: changed, setup

Replaced the use of ``pkg_resources`` with the ``importlib`` library.
For Python < 3.8 the library ``importlib_metadata`` is used.

https://github.com/sqlalchemy/mako/blob/main/doc/build/changelog.rst

This dependency seems to be missing in all supported Ubuntu releases.

2022-04-26 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
Thanks for taking the time to file this bug and trying to make Ubuntu
better.

It seems that you are trying to install mariadb which is not co-
installable with mysql, due to that it is trying to remove mysql. During
its removal it tries to stop the mysql service and the error happened
because the mysql systemd service is not loaded. Did you by any chance
do anything with the mysql systemd service by hand? I am not sure why
this is happening, I did install and uninstall mysql in a Focal
container and it worked just fine.

Since there is not enough information in your report to begin triage or to
differentiate between a local configuration problem and a bug in Ubuntu, I
am marking this bug as "Incomplete". We would be grateful if you would:

[Bug 1969942] Re: package rabbitmq-server 3.9.13-1 failed to install/upgrade: installed rabbitmq-server package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1

2022-04-25 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
Thanks for taking the time to file this bug and trying to make Ubuntu
better.

The attached logs are not that helpful to understand what is happening.
I did set up a Focal container and installed rabbitmq-server, also
changed the default config to match yours (setting "ulimit -n 1024"),
after that I did run do-release-upgrade to move to Jammy. The upgrade
went fine and by the end of the process rabbitmq-server systemd service
was still active and running. Not sure what exactly happened in your
system to get this failure. Could you please try to provided any
detailed steps to reproduce this issue? Otherwise we cannot act on it.

[Bug 1968067] Re: upgrade_lts_contract.py exception on impish and later

2022-04-21 Thread Lucas Albuquerque Medeiros de Moura
** Description changed:

+ [Impact]
+ When users are upgrading their machines, we run the upgrade_lts_contract
script to ensure that the services that were unable will keep being enable in
the new ubuntu release the users are upgraded too.
+
+ Currently, if the user upgrades directly from Focal to Jammy, the script
+ will error out because we are missing the entries for Focal and Impish
+ on that script.
+
+ Therefore, even though we might not have full support for some services
+ in Jammy yet, we should not error out on that script and allow it to
+ complete;
+
+
+ [Test Case]
+ To reproduce the bug: follow these steps:
+
+ 1. Launch a jammy machine
+ 2. Attach to a valid UA token
+ 3. run `sudo python3 /usr/lib/ubuntu-advantage/upgrade_lts_contract.py`
+
+ And to verify that the fix works:
+
+ 1. Upgrade UA to version 27.8
+ 2. re-run `sudo python3 /usr/lib/ubuntu-advantage/upgrade_lts_contract.py`
and confirm no errors are raised
+
+
+ [Regression Potential]
+ We are just adding the new releases into our support dict and providing
better error messages if that problem happens again in the future. Therefore,
we don't believe we have a big regression issue here.
+
+ [Original Description]
+
  See this error
  https://errors.ubuntu.com/problem/864d1a4d38167a7b009ce993125030b58eb012d5

When upgrading from focal -> impish or from impish -> jammy, a KeyError
will occur in the upgrade_lts_contract.py script from ubuntu-advantage-
tools. This happens because that script has not been kept up-to-date
with new ubuntu series names since groovy.

We plan to fix this bug in our next release of ubuntu-advantage-tools,
which will be version 27.8 and should occur within the next month.

[Bug 1969623] [NEW] Creation of SNMPv3 user broken (Jammy/22.04)

2022-04-20 Thread Sascha Lucas
Public bug reported:

When creating a SNMPv3 user this error appears:

$ /usr/bin/net-snmp-config --create-snmpv3-user -ro -A MD5 -a XX -x Y
-X DES Z
touch: cannot touch '/snmp/snmpd.conf': No such file or directory
/usr/bin/net-snmp-create-v3-user: 146: cannot create /snmp/snmpd.conf:
Directory nonexistent

Looking at /usr/bin/net-snmp-create-v3-user line 146, it seems that
$outfile references ${datarootdir} in line 139, which is undefined.
Further outfile is already defined at line 121.

2022-04-15 Thread Lucas Varsky
Public bug reported:

Description:
When I scroll on the dock to change workspaces, it displays the new OSD for
switching a workspace, but the white circles that display the current workspace
are shown on a dark gray and the OSD's animation is missing.

What should happen:
The OSD should display the correct animation you would see if you type
Super/Win + Alt + Left/Right Arrow
Or no OSD at all.

Replicate it:
Scroll on dock.

[Bug 1969244] [NEW] ubuntu dock's right click menu switches position when the dock is hidden

2022-04-15 Thread Lucas Varsky
Public bug reported:

Description:
When ubuntu-dock is set to autohide and in hidden state (happens on panel and
dock mode)
When you go to right-click an icon to access its menu, the dock hides again and
the menu stays open but when you click it the menu updates its position to be
closer to the dock, leading to miss clicks and a worse user experience.

What should happen:
The dock should stay visible while you interact with the menu.

Replicate it:
Set your dock to autohide and then, trigger the autohide (like maximizing a
window), reach for one of the icons and right-click it.

[Bug 1969125] [NEW] [SRU] ubuntu-advantage-tools (27.7 -> 27.8) Xenial, Bionic, Focal, Impish, Jammy

2022-04-14 Thread Lucas Albuquerque Medeiros de Moura
Public bug reported:

[Impact]
This release sports both bug-fixes and new features and we would like to
make sure all of our supported customers have access to these
improvements. The notable ones are:

  * add support for realtime kernel service on Jammy as a beta service
  * update code to use new contract overrides directive
  * Make FIPS an incompatible service for FIPS Updates
  * Unhold more FIPS packages when enabling FIPS
  * Unhold FIPS packages when enabling FIPS Updates

See the changelog entry below for a full list of changes and bugs.

[Test Case]
The following development and SRU process was followed:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuAdvantageToolsUpdates

The ubuntu-advantage-tools team will be in charge of attaching the
artifacts and console output of the appropriate run to the bug. ubuntu-
advantage-tools team members will not mark ‘verification-done’ until
this has happened.

[Regression Potential]
Since we using a new contracts directive to perform series and cloud specific
overrides on the entitlements definitions, we could be parsing that information
incorrectly, not respecting the
overrides. We have an extensive number of tests to cover different scenarios
for services enablement/disablement to verify is this is not happening, but it
can still be a problem.

We are also adding a new service that can only be enabled on Jammy. This
service is incompatible with Livepatch, FIPS and FIPS Updates. If we
have made any mistake on that implementation, we could have a gap where
users will be able to enable it on other series or together with the
incompatible services, but we do have tests that cover that.

[Discussion]
Most of the FIPS work on this release is aimed at allowing FIPS PRO machines to
enable FIPS Updates if necessary. On those machines, the FIPS packages are
installed and hold during the image creation. When UA runs auto-attach on the
first boot, we enable FIPS and unhold those packages. However, we have
identified that we were not unholding all of the FIPS packages anymore. This
means that if an user tries to enable FIPS Updates, it will fail because we
will not be able to install some of the FIPS Updates packages due to some
package holds. Besides fixing that, we have also added safer mechanisms here to
guarantee that we will properly unhold all the packages, like unholding them
when FIPS Updates is being enabled.

[Changelog]

  * New upstream release 27.8
- entitlements: apply overrides from the contract response
- fips:
+ unhold fips package when enabling fips-updates
+ make fips service incompatible with fips-updates
+ unhold more packages when enabling fips
- lib: fix upgrade script for unsupported releases
- realtime: add suport for realtime kernel beta service on Jammy

[Bug 1960449] Re: Backport container stack in Jammy

2022-04-14 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
Thanks for accepting the remaining packages into -proposed. I updated
the description as you requested, I hope that's enough. I'll be
verifying runc in impish-proposed and focal-proposed.

** Description changed:

  [Impact]

In order to follow our policy on keeping the container stack (docker.io,
containerd, and runc) up-to-date in our supported releases, let's
backport the stack in Jammy to Impish, Focal, and Bionic.

- It is also important because the new releases contain some CVE fixes.
+ It is also important because the new releases contain some CVE fixes. It
+ was discussed with the security team that once those packages land in
+ -updates they will perform no-changes uploads to the security pocket.
+
+ golang-github-fsouza-go-dockerclient and golang-github-openshift-
+ imagebuilder in Focal also need to be built with Golang 1.16 instead of
+ the default one. This is needed because they build code from the
+ docker.io library which now will only support Golang 1.16.

  [Test Plan]

Per https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DockerUpdates, our test case is the
  autopkgtests

+ For golang-github-fsouza-go-dockerclient and golang-github-openshift-
+ imagebuilder in Focal we need to make sure the DEP-8 test is passing.
+ This test will build the code and run tests, if everything is fine it
+ will pass.
+
  [Where problems could occur]

As usual, we deliver most benefit to our users by delivering an upstream
experience. A risk of regressions is part of that.

[Bug 1968305] Re: sshd_config.d overrides not working

2022-04-12 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
@jamesps this applies to Ubuntu Focal 20.04 as described in the manpage.
This seems to me a local configuration issue and not a bug in the
package. Due to that I am marking this bug as Invalid.

[Bug 1874257] Re: SSH fails with connection timed out - in VPN and hangs here "expecting SSH2_MSG_KEX_ECDH_REPLY" + Ubuntu 16.04.6 LTS

2022-04-12 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
@family-gan are you saying this is an issue in Ubuntu Impish (21.10)? It
seems to be already fixed in supported releases. Could you share any
steps to reproduce it? If you consider the issue you are facing
different than the one discussed in this bug please consider filing a
separate bug.

[Bug 1968226] Re: DEP-8 test failure due to missing dependency

2022-04-11 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
sbd/1.5.1-1ubuntu1 does not fix the issue. The stonith:external/sbd
resource is provided by src:sbd itself, the issue is that it relies on
some metadata provided by resource-agents-extra, so no need to depend on
fence-agents-extra. Sorry for the wrong fix.

[Bug 1960449] Re: Backport container stack in Jammy

2022-04-08 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
According to the latest changes in the docker.io group SRU exception
approved here:

https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-release/2022-April/005371.html

now, .0 releases of runc and containerd are eligible for backporting.
Considering that, could we now accept runc into {focal,impish}-proposed?
