Sorry, there is a copy paste error in my previous comment. the issue
didn't appear until 3.18.9 and the firest Kernel version where the issue
appear ist 3.19.0rc1

I just checked a bunch of Kernels, I checked every realease between 3.16.7 and 
4.0.0rc4.
The issue didn't appear up to Kernel 3.18.3.19.0-031900.  The Kernel version 
where the issue starts to appear is 3.19.1-031901.
>From that Kernel on the issue appear up to Kernel 4.0.0rc4

Just checked a thew things. I just got this new X1 Carbon and tried
the15.04 version. I now checked the latest upstream  Kernel (4.0rc4)

It all worked with Kernel Version 3.16.7

I experienced this error in both 14.10 und 15.04


In the mean time I even updated my bios to 1.05
