[Bug 1919174] Re: nvidia drivers will not load

2021-03-16 Thread MG
I have the same issue on a laptop with Optimus and on a desktop with dedicated
Nvidia GPU.
My apt log looks the same (attached).
I switched back to 5.8.0-44.

2015-11-09 Thread mg
@mterry, thank you for your kind reply. Because I read the code, I could
say that many of Seth's objections do not apply anymore. The
libvdeplug2's code base is also pretty small: 885 lines of code with
comments, empty lines and the relative header. I would be glad to take
care of any issues proposed against this specific library.

[Bug 1338185] Re: networking fails in 32-bit 14.04 using HyperV on Win2012R2

2014-07-30 Thread MG
Following up on latest kernel, I upgraded kernel on Ubuntu 14.04LTS
32-bit Hyper-V VM with 2GB memory to v3.16-rc6 then increased to memory
to 4GB after confirming kernel upgrade. It still experiences network
issue/bug. I also tried more recent kernel v3.16-rc7 with the same
results. Once the memory is increased, network is disconnected.

Also tested 14.04LTS 32-bit VM with 4GB memory (no kernel upgrade) on
VMWare ESXi 5.5. Runs beautifully with no network issues.

[Bug 1338185] Re: networking fails in 32-bit 14.04 using HyperV on Win2012R2

2014-07-11 Thread MG
I encountered the exact same issue with loss of network upgrading Ubuntu
12.04LTS 32-bit to 14.04LTS 32-bit on a Hyper-V VM (Windows 2008R2). I
went through the same steps to do a fresh install of 14.04LTS 32-bit and
had the same result. Also found Ubuntu 14.04LTS 64-bit worked well and
did not experience this issue.

After much testing, I found that if I dropped the RAM of the Ubuntu
14.04LTS VM to 4014MB on 2008R2 Hyper-V (4026MB on Hyper-V 2012R2), the
network adapter will show up and network connectivity will resume (Will
have internal system errors however). I then dropped to 2048MB and
Ubuntu is stable and network is connected. My Ubuntu 12.04LTS 32-bit VMs
run 4GB wonderfully and never experienced issues with memory/networking.

Also tested on different hosts and found this network issue is the same
on Hyper-V versions 2008R2, 2012 and 2012R2 when memory is pushed to 4GB
for the VMs.

I tested Ubuntu 14.04LTS 32-bit on a physical machine with 4GB of RAM
and system runs great, no network issues.

The download of 14.04LTS 32-bit does display for machines running 2GB
or less.

How much memory are you giving affected VMs?

[Bug 219061] Re: [Hardy] Does not install on VIA PD6000E Motherboard (Multiple problems)

2012-01-26 Thread MG
This bug is so old, there is no point in continuing with it. The release
is obsolete, and the specific hardware in question is also relatively
out of date. I still have the hardware in question, but have long since
switched to Debian server for it, which has always worked flawlessly in
this application.

It is possible that the root problem in this case *may* have been that
the Ubuntu i386 releases have had many bugs related to actual i386
support. I have filed other bugs in this regards, but these bugs would
get fixed for one release, only for the identical bug to appear again in
the next release. That however was a release management issue, which is
not something in the scope of this bug report.

If support for this class of hardware is no longer important to Ubuntu,
then there is no point in anyone else wasting effort on it. I have
marked this issue as invalid, as there is no option for so old
probably nobody cares any more. However, it was a valid problem at the
time.

As background, the motherboard mentioned in this report is an embedded
Mini-ITX board used in things like point of sale and industrial
applications.

[Bug 807736] Re: Multiple monitors with different resolution: window maximization broken

2011-08-17 Thread pedro mg
In my case I can't even resize the windows in the laptop screen. The
application of the window crashes (killed).

To resize a window I must drag it to the external display, resize, and
move down to the laptop screen.

Maximizing in the laptop screen throws the window to the topbar, making
it invisible. Had to find it and drag it with alt+mouse somewhere else,
and resize it.

1366x728 + 1680x1050

Ubuntu Natty, Unity.

Other than that, if it was not for the not_supported Optimus
(Intel+nVidia) it would be working great.

** Description changed:

  I have a 1366x768 laptop that I connect to an external 1920x1080
  monitor.

Windows maximize correctly on the monitor that is up or left. Windows
maximize incorrectly (they half-disappear into the void) on the monitor
that is down or right. It doesn't matter which monitor is set as
  primary.

Steps to reproduce: connect a second monitor and select a different
resolution than the first monitor. Set vertical layout (one monitor over
the other) or horizontal layout (side-by-side). Open one window on each
monitor. Click the maximize button and observe the brokenness. Try using
the grid plugin and observe the brokenness (windows on the bottom or
right monitor half-disappear outside the monitor).

Anyone know any fixes/workarounds for this, other than falling back to
classic mode? I am using Ubuntu for work and this is hurting my
  productivity.

Hi,

Thanks for getting back on this. I do apologise, but I'm only semi
literate in Linux (if that!) and tamely followed the instructions on the
crash before I thought it through.

Having just now repeated the steps to determine whether the crash was a
result of having tried to install some modem software, I realized that I
had downloaded this:
hsfmodem-7.80.02.03full-dellhybrid.tar.bz2 of
and it's for Ubuntu 8.10, not the 10.10 live cd I was using. I went
back and fired up 10.10, opened a terminal window and did a find on
what I knew to be a nonexistant utility (which is what had caused the
crash) and it worked fine.

It appears that trying to install the above package to the wrong OS is
what caused it, not a true bug at all.

Sorry to have wasted your time (but this did illustrate the value of
having a technical community, something my bosses seemed not to
understand at all But why can't you just do it all by your self??)

[Bug 377609] Re: FTP cant connect to some servers

2010-04-14 Thread mg
Did any one come up with a solution ...
I have the same problem, connecting to an Microsoft IIS5 FTP Server.
From these systems it fails (netkit-ftp 0.17-16):
2.6.24-23-genericUbuntu 8.04.2 \n \l
2.6.18-6-686Debian GNU/Linux 4.0 \n \l
From these systems it works flawless (netkit-ftp 0.17-19):
2.6.31-20-genericUbuntu 9.10 \n \l
For all other ftp-servers i tried it, it works ok.

I'm expiring the exact same behavior, described above, using ftp and
telnet. The 202 Hello Message is not sent by the server, or received by
the client. The TCP-Connection is established ok. It is actually
independent of the ftp-client used, so it seems to be a problem further
down in the protocol stack.

[Bug 298532] Re: [i965] reflection plugin freezes systems with Intel GM965

2009-12-06 Thread Thales MG
I'm also affected by this.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525, with an Intel Graphics card (quite generic...
Can't remember the model), and it happened just like itsjustarumour said.
I tried to enter via Failsafe-GNOME, but it froze (I guess it was just a
coincidence...)
Anyway, I booted via recovery mode, and located the config files for reflection
using locate reflex
Then I found 2 files:
/usr/share/compiz/reflex.xml
/usr/share/gconf/schemas/compiz-reflex.schemas
I changed them both to other names and reboot to normal GNOME... It worked.
Then I disabled Reflection with the manager.

[Bug 490093] Re: Cannot change password with users-admin (gnome-system-tools)

2009-11-30 Thread Thales MG
A small update: I triead again to change my pass yesterday, and I can't even
using About Me. It just hangs when I type the new one 2 times.
I believe it's because my new password is just the old one plus a new string of
characters, so when I try to change it via passwd, it rejects it reporting
Bad: new password must be different than the old one.

[Bug 490093] [NEW] Cannot change password with users-admin (gnome-system-tools)

2009-11-29 Thread Thales MG
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools

gnome-sytem-tools version: 2.28.1-0ubuntu2
Running on Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala, updated.

By using the System-Preferences-About Me, I can change my password. The
problem I have, is if I try to change my own password by going thru
System-Administration-Users and groups.
If I try to change it there, it says my password is changed. I try to
authenticate it on the same window, it says my new password is correct. But
when I do something that requires my password (like updating packages) it
doesn't accept my new pass, only the old one.
Even if I reboot, the pass to login is still the old one.
And I tried to change it again today, using users-admin, and it just keeps
loading, and loading... For more than 5 minutes.
Posting as requested by Milan Bouchet-Valat.

[Bug 406726] Re: can't connect to a WPA encrypted network

The WPA encrypted wireless network at my company is working. Only the
network at home is not working. The security mode is WPA-pre shared key,
WPA algorithm is TKIP, WPA shared key is blablabla. So I created a new
Wireless connection with the gnome panel applet. I choosed Wireless
network security: wpa and wpa2 personal. I tried with password
blablabla and with

[Bug 406726] [NEW] can't connect to a WPA encrypted network

with a static IP, not dhcp.

[Bug 369731] [NEW] Deprecation errors when importing Nevow into Python 2.6

2009-04-30 Thread MG
Public bug reported:

Importing nevow into python 2.6 causes the following deprecation errors
to be reported:

Python 2.6.2 (release26-maint, Apr 19 2009, 01:58:18) [GCC 4.3.3] on linux2

import nevow

/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/formless/annotate.py:730: DeprecationWarning:
object.__new__() takes no parameters
rv = cls = InterfaceClass.__new__(cls, name, bases, dct)

/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/nevow/testutil.py:7: DeprecationWarning: The
popen2 module is deprecated. Use the subprocess module.
  from popen2 import Popen3

/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/nevow/guard.py:15: DeprecationWarning: the md5
module is deprecated; use hashlib instead
  import md5

The computer is running Jaunty 9.04 Ubuntu Desktop (Gnome) AMD-64,
upgraded from Intrepid AMD-64 desktop. Synaptic reports that the current
installed version of python-nevow is 0.9.31-4ubuntu2

If python 2.5 is used instead of 2.6, no warnings are issued.

The second and third deprecation warnings are due to simple changes in
the layout of the standard Python library which happened between 2.5 and
2.6. I'm not sure (in detail) what is causing the first warning.

Both python 2.5 and 2.6 symlink these files to
/usr/share/pyshared/nevow. That won't work because versions 2.5 and
2.6 need slightly different versions. This will likely be a problem with
Python 3.0 as well (I haven't installed or tested it though) as it also
uses the new library layout.

[Bug 254453] Re: Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha-3 Intrepid Ibex - Via C3 CPU not Supported

2008-08-23 Thread MG
David Bentley wrote: The issue reported is that the current desktop

Yes, but the implication was that this was not a new problem, and that
it may have been the result of a concious policy decision rather than a
bug. What we have established is that the problem is indeed a new one
(not present in any version of 8.04).

According to Forest Bond at 2008-08-21 it also appears that the real
problem may be a bug in the installer which also affects other
processors besides the C3. If so, then the problem may get fixed in a
new release. I will be looking forward to testing for this.

Forest Bond wrote: Are you sure your ISO is a Server Edition ISO?

Yes. See the above message where I said I installed the server version.
The file was ubuntu-8.04-server-i386.iso (as stated above). It
installed using the normal server installer program. The end result
looked like a normal Ubuntu server installation.

I will download the ubuntu-8.04.1-server-i386.iso version and install
it today to see if I get any different results with that. There
shouldn't be different results, as this is supposedly just a roll-up of
updates. If the problem appears in that version, then we have narrowed
down the window in which this change occurred.

[Bug 254453] Re: Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha-3 Intrepid Ibex - Via C3 CPU not Supported

2008-08-21 Thread MG
I downloaded ubuntu-8.04.1-server-i386.iso (the latest release) today
and installed it on the Via PD6000E with C3. It installed and restarted
without any noticeable problems. /proc/version reports the following
version:

Linux version 2.6.24-19-generic ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc version 4.2.3
(Ubuntu 4.2.3-2ubuntu7)) #1 SMP Wed Jun 18 14:43:41 UTC 2008

The 8.04 server version will boot on a VIA C3 Samuel 2. Therefore if
there is a problem, it appears to originate in Intrepid Ibex.

2008-08-21 Thread MG
Forest Bond wrote: I have one case where a user installed Ubuntu 8.04

the first time after installation.

The Via web site says: The VIA EPIA EK Mini-ITX embedded board is
available with the 1GHz or fanless 800MHz VIA Luke CoreFusion™ processor
platform. Another page states: The VIA CoreFusion processor platform
is based on the 'Nehemiah' core architecture.

Wikipedia (if it can be believed) claims the Nehemiah has the cmov
instruction. Therefore, it seems possible that the board in question has
the cmov instruction.

The Nehemiah was a major redesign of the Via processor. The C3 name was
kept more for brand recognition purposes than as any reflection of what
was in the package. The CoreFusion processors have integrated the
Northbridge into the Nehemiah CPU to reduce size and package count.
There is more than one version of CoreFusion chip. The differences seem
to be related to what sort of graphics and other peripherals were
integrated into them.

If the above chain of information is correct, the problem the other user
was reporting was not related to cmov. It is possible however that there
was some older version of the board which was also known as EK. Did this
other user provide the contents of /proc/cpuinfo? That would be the best
way to know what processor is in the board.

[Bug 163738] Re: Ubuntu server and JeOS edition cannot be installed when run under QEMU

2008-08-06 Thread MG
I have just conducted the following tests in response to the question
from Michael Nagel.

1) I am presently running Ubuntu 8.04 x86-64.
2) I downloaded jeos-8.04.1-jeos-i386.iso and ubuntu-8.04.1-server-i386.iso on
the 6th of August, 2008.
3) I installed each of them in QEMU.

Everything seemed to install OK. Both made some minor ACPI complaints,
but those appear to be normal and didn't seem to affect the
installation.

In both cases I restarted QEMU and it start up to the command prompt.
For JEOS 8.04 and i386 server running in QEMU on Ubuntu 8.04, the
installation problem as reported for 7.10 seems to be gone.

[Bug 254430] Re: Intrepid Ibex 8.10 Alpha 3 Installer - Mouse does not work

2008-08-04 Thread MG
I am not able to reproduce this bug today. The mouse now works correctly
with both the install and the live-CD (try without install) options. If
I cannot find a way to reproduce this problem reliably, then I suggest
that we close this.

In attempting to reproduce this bug today, I also tried the 386 version.
I got the following (different) error repeatedly when attempting the
live-CD function about half a dozen times. apic=debug didn't help.
noapic allowed it to start OK. I don't know if it has any bearing on the
mouse problem. I don't get this with the x64 version. To be clear, this
isn't the same problem, but I am mentioning it here in case it provides
some clue.

[ 0.116007] ..MP-BIOS bug: 8254 timer not connected to IO-APIC
[ 0.116007] Kernel panic - not syncing: IO-APIC + timer doesn't work! Boot
with apic=debug and send a report. Then try booting with the 'noapic' option

Is it possible that when booting from the CD, the system looks at what
is on the hard drive and makes a decision based on what it saw there?
The hard drive I did my original testing on (when the mouse wasn't
working) had a Linux installation that was not compatible with the
current hardware. Now that I have installed successfully, what is on the
hard drive is compatible. I don't think I have a way of reproducing that
previous condition, so I can't actually test the exact situation I had
before. This theory though sounds a bit like grasping at straws, since
the CD *shouldn't* depend on the hard drive. I don't have an explanation
though of why I can't reproduce the mouse problem now.

Unless you have anything you would like me to try, then I would suggest
that we close this bug as unreproducible. If I can find a way to
reproduce it again later, then I will open a new bug.

[Bug 254453] [NEW] Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha-3 Intrepid Ibex - Via C3 CPU not Supported

2008-08-03 Thread MG
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu Desktop i386 8.10 Alpha Intrepid Ibex will not install on a Via
PD6000E motherboard. When Install Ubuntu is selected from the
graphical installer, the following error message is displayed:

This kernel requires the following features not present on the CPU: cmov
Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU.

The processor is a VIA C3 Eden, commonly used on mobile and embedded
boards (low power) and entertainment systems (e.g. MythTV boxes).
According what I have been able to find out, the cmov instruction is an
optional i686 instruction (i.e. is not required to be present for the
CPU to be an I686), *not* an i386 instruction. The C3 does not implement
this optional instruction. The same computer is currently running the
Ubuntu server install for kernel : Linux version 2.6.24-16-generic
([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc version 4.2.3 (Ubuntu 4.2.3-2ubuntu7)) #1 SMP Thu
Apr 10 13:23:42 UTC 2008 with no problems.

Since the Ubuntu ISO claims to be for i386 intrepid-desktop-i386.iso,
optional i686 instructions should not be relevant. Also, the description
on the Ubuntu download page for this release says: For almost all PCs.
This includes most machines with Intel/AMD/etc type processors and
almost all computers that run Microsoft Windows, as well as newer Apple
Macintosh systems based on Intel processors. Choose this if you are at
all unsure. According to this criteria, requiring cmov would be a
bug.

This bug may have appeared several years ago in 59338, but that bug
report isn't entirely clear on whether that was the actual original
problem.

Re: [Bug 219061] Re: [Hardy] Does not install on VIA PD6000E Motherboard (Multiple problems)

2008-04-21 Thread MG
I don't have a cable, but I can make one. A bigger problem is that
although I have two PCs, I only have one monitor, keyboard, and mouse,
and I don't have a KVM switch. This means that I can only operate one
PC at a time when installing software.

I assume that you are referring to using the serial kernel debugger. I
haven't used this before, and the information about it on the internet
seems rather sparse.

If you have any suggestions on how to work with this, I would be happy
to give it a try (or anything else you can suggest that I do to
provide more information).

2008-04-19 Thread MG
Further testing with RC-1 (on same system as above):
I conducted further testing using version RC-1 on the 19th of April. The
results are as follows:

1) The regular desktop (Gnome x386) still does not install, but now
exhibits new symptoms. The live CD now makes it to displaying the
desktop, but then locks up immediately, or at the very beginning of the
install. This was tested approximately half a dozen times, and failed
each time. The failure point would be slightly different each time.

2) The alternate install was not tested again (I will do this later and
report the results)

3) The server version installed correctly with Grub and without any
obvious issues.

[Bug 219061] [NEW] [Hardy] Does not install on VIA PD6000E Motherboard (Multiple problems)

2008-04-18 Thread MG
Public bug reported:

8.04 Hardy Beta Ubuntu (several versions) (current version for
17-Apr-2008) does not install correctly on the VIA EPIA Mini-ITX PD6000E
motherboard for multiple reasons. All tests were with the i386 versions.
7.10 Gusty installs correctly without problems.

1) When trying to boot the regular desktop install from the live CD
(regular Gnome Ubuntu), the system would crash. This occurs immediately
after the point where the progress bar (shown during booting, waves back
and forth below the Ubuntu logo) disappears, but just before the brown
screen (which should show before the desktop fully appears) appears. I'm
not sure if this description is clear enough, but there's no text which
describes what step things are on. The essential point is that it is
just before the live CD desktop should appear. This happens consistently
at exactly the same point in the sequence (this was tested approximately
5 times). The system will either turn off, reboot, or simply freeze with
a blank screen.

2) Using the alternate install CD (Gnome Ubuntu), everything will
install except for Grub, which will not install. LILO can be installed,
but the system hangs on reboot at [48.418762] Uniform CD-ROM driver
Revision 3.20.

3) Using the server install, Grub will also not install. LILO will
install and the system will reboot and run.

Previous versions of Ubuntu (Gnome) have installed and run on this
hardware. The system was running 7.10 previous to this. The PC is
primarily used as a test system. Just prior to this install, the system
very briefly had a version of Windows Server 2008 on it in a dual boot
configuration with 7.10 Gusty. Both OS would dual boot with this fine.
All the partitions were removed and the hard drive was completely
reformatted several times during the course of attempting to get Hardy
to install.

The PC is used for test purposes, and the drive can be wiped at any time
for further testing if necessary.

[Bug 219064] [NEW] [Hardy Server] Changing consoles causes screen to go blank, requiring reboot.

2008-04-18 Thread MG
Public bug reported:

For 8.04 Hardy Beta Server (version current for 17-Apr-2008) changing
console (ctrl-alt 1, ctrl-alt 2, etc.) causes the text to disappear
resulting in a blank screen (except for the cursor). Changing back to
the original console does not cure the problem. Typing on the keyboard
will cause the cursor to move about the screen (in large increments),
but no text is visible.

The console may possibly not be accepting input when this occurs.
Attempting to do a log-in and shutdown (by typing in the correct key
sequence) did not work (several attempts were made).

This was found while editing a config file with nano. When I switched
back to the console which had nano, the portions of the screen which are
in reverse video to display the menu options were visible, but only as
white blocks on a black background, and with no visible text. (Nano is
mentioned to assist in the description of the problem. This is not being
reported as a nano problem).

This occurred while testing installation of Hardy. The hardware is a Via
Epia Mini-ITX PD6000E.

[Bug 163738] QEMU won't allow 7.10 Ubuntu server or jeos to be installed.

following results:

1) 7.10 jeos - (described above - failed).
2) 7.10 desktop - installed OK.
3) 7.10 server - failed (as above).
4) 7.04 server - installed OK.
5) 6.10 server - installed OK.

The tests for 6.10 server and 7.10 jeos were repeated on a 386 (Via processor
running Ubuntu 7.10) with the same results as above (6.10 server installed,
while 7.10 jeos did not). All tests were conducted using an image file (iso) as
the install source, not a physical CD drive.

The key points to note are that the desktop version of 7.10 installs OK,
but server or jeos for version 7.10 using the text based installer fail.
Also 6.10 or 7.04 server will install, but 7.10 server (or jeos) fails.
This seems to suggest the problem may be related to there being a
different version of the text based installer in version 7.10.

This may be related to bug #120316, but that one described it as a
problem detecting the actual physical drive, whereas the problem
reported here is happening with an image file (I did not test this with
an image on a physical CD). Furthermore, the comments in #120316
reported problems with both desktop and alternate, whereas I am not
seeing any problems with desktop (I did not test alternate). One comment
in #120316 reported ata_piix.blacklist=yes as a boot option fixed the
problem. I tried that, but it made no difference in the problem being
reported here. These factors suggest this might not be the same thing as
#120316.

[Bug 134195] Re: (Gusty) kmediafactory does not install in main menu

2007-11-04 Thread MG
The original bug report was intended to refer to Ubuntu (Gnome), not
Kubuntu (KDE). I apologise if the original description was not clear
enough. KMediaFactory should add itself to the Gnome Applications menu
(Sound Video would be the most logical place).

I have added some screen shots showing what happens (or rather what
doesn't happen) during installation. The file names should be self
explanatory. Briefly however, I started with a clean install of
ubuntu-7.10-desktop-i386.iso. I then applied all updates. I then
installed KMediaFactory using Synaptic. The KMediaFactory package
installed, but didn't show up in any of the menus (the system was first
rebooted just to prove that this doesn't help anything). If
KMediaFactory is added to the menu manually, then the package will
launch from the menu and work correctly.

This problem was present in the previous version of Ubuntu (Gnome) also.
This problem also affects some other KDE apps when used from Gnome. I
don't have a list of those, so they aren't included in this bug report.
I can run tests and file separate bug reports on those later.

[Bug 134195] (Gusty) kmediafactory does not install in main menu

2007-08-22 Thread MG
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kmediafactory

When kmediafactory is installed, it does not add an entry into the main
menu. It can be added to the menu manually however. Note, this is not a
case of where logging out and back in after installation in will cause
it to appear. This problem is being reported for Gusty, but it was
present in Feisty as well.

[Bug 102922] Re: [apport] rdesktop crashed with SIGSEGV in XPutImage()

2007-04-11 Thread mg
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 104332 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/104332

Hi,

Here is another solution: replace BitmapPad(g_display) by g_bpp
inside this XCreateImage call.

I've done some tests with a windows 2003 server, 8 bpp and 16 bpp, and
it worked fine.

[Bug 82335] Re: network-manager should not set offline mode when it manages no device

2007-04-04 Thread Pedro MG
My ASUS motherboard has 2 built-in network devices: eth and wlan. Wlan is built
under USB.
The eth keeps coming down, so i connect via wlan0 (that comes down from times
to times). All under Network Manager. I gave up not using it. It seems worst. I
just have lo entrance in /etc/network/interfaces. The thing is, if epiphany (i
use it 90% of the time) and gaim report no network, i open firefox and i do
have network. When networking gets stable, Feisty will rock! ;)

[Bug 82335] Re: network-manager should not set offline mode when it manages no device

2007-03-20 Thread Pedro MG
i have an Asus P5v-VM DH motherboard with eth and wifi. My network
hangs in an inscosistent way. I tryied it with wired and wifi only
modes. Even removed NM to autostart in the Session. I can't even access
the router webpage when the network comes down. Tried severall
combinations in /etc/network/interfaces, but the connection drops with
all combinations. Sometimes 10 minutes. Sometimes 1 hour. NM can make it
active some times again. Not always. Where does NM store info and
changes ? In interfaces file ?

[Bug 68893] Icelandic keys do not work.

2006-10-28 Thread mg
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome

The two codepages for icelandic are wrong. Þ and Ö work, but ae
returns ä, and the one where D with a strike though it is, returns ü.
And dead keys (a,e,i,o,u,y with a comma over it) do not work at all.

This applies to both Iceland Sun dead keys and Iceland Eliminate dead
keys layouts in Keyboard Preferences.
