This might be related to

I've tested 2 other desktop systems, same issue. I do not have any usb

[Bug 1529152] Re: slow completion for systemd units

2019-10-15 Thread Machiel van Veen
This is still an issue in 18.04 however, it seems finally fixed in
18.10, the systemd developers do say it has been since systemd version
240.

If at all possible it would be great if this can be backported for 18.04
considering the length of support.

[Bug 1519974] Re: /etc/fstab nfs mounts are not mounted at startup

2016-08-10 Thread Machiel van Veen
I can confirm this issue on 16.04, networking is up because a sshfs
mount is working before the nfs mount starts. Mounting the nfs share
during boot is attempted but times out. I can manually mount the share
once the system is up.

This did work in 14.04 (no systemd) from which I upgraded.

[Bug 1366519] Re: Incredibly slow editing of documents when connected to network

2016-07-13 Thread Machiel van Veen
I can confirm this issue with Libreoffice version 5.1.4. I had a hard
time reproducing the slow downs users where reporting to me but managed
to recreate the conditions. I narrowed the problem to files listed in
"Recent Documents" which are located on a file server (cifs).

With the list populated with about 10 items on the file server and about
five open documents the effect is most noticeable. Typing and opening
the menus will lag enormously, this will continue until you either clear
the list of recent documents or remove it from the menu all together.
The difference between a populated and a cleared list is like night and
day.

The file server in question has decent performance but can take a second
to respond if it is very busy. Either way, I do expect the first time
listing on the menu to take some time. But the impact on overall
performance is very unexpected and likely unintended.

2008-05-15 Thread Machiel
Thanks for your reply, I tried it from the cli and it worked fine. I've

So it seems the bug fixed itself somehow? I'm not sure what happened,
either way the issue is solved for me. So I guess, assuming no one can
reproduce the issue is solved.

[Bug 227081] [NEW] Open Url causes kfmclient hangup

2008-05-05 Thread Machiel
Public bug reported:

Upon clicking a url in a email message the url is not opened. Instead
several kfmclient processes are spawned and the bouncy cursor bounces to
much for it's own good. The url never opens, it tries to open the url in
Konqueror, there is no problem once the default browser has been set to
Firefox.

The issue occurs with all links in email messages and can only be
stopped by killing the kfmclient processes. The issue has started to
occur since a upgrade from Gutsy to Hardy, the Gutsy install was a clean
one.

I've pasted the ps ax output below:

I can confirm, I use the same setup and config as Mathijs, the server is

not changed in any way during this period. My current Gutsy install is a

issue by enabling power management and setting it to the maximum setting
of five hours in the control panel.

I'm running Kubuntu 6.10, it is a fresh installation.

[Bug 71113] Re: Error: Can't parse that no files

2006-11-25 Thread Machiel
If noticed one error in my initial bug report. The video needs to be
embedded in a web page for the error to appear. A url with extra
information does work when pasted directly into the address bar.

A example page would be http://www.novatv.nl/ , I could not find a
english language page for this. The video links are marked with a small
camera icon, any of them produces the error.

[Bug 71113] Error: Can't parse that no files

2006-11-09 Thread Machiel
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem-mozilla

Whenever a video stream has a url with extra information appended to it
the error Can't parse that no files appears in a dialog. For instance

http://cgi.omroep.nl/cgi-
bin/streams?/tv/nps/nova/bb.20061108-a.asf?start=0:0:0.1end=0:32:55.0;embed=1

produces the error and

http://cgi.omroep.nl/cgi-bin/streams?/tv/nps/nova/bb.20061108-a.asf

does not.

This happens using Kubuntu 6.10, Firefox 2.0, Totem-xine, Totem-mozilla,
a reinstall of the packages does not solve the issue. A reinstall of
Kubuntu has not been tried, the installed system is a upgrade from
Kubuntu Dapper.

Using Konsole the error

url 'file:///home/username/.mozilla/firefox/znufv0em.default/Cache/7A1BFD5Fd01'
unhandled

appears.
