[Bug 434850] [NEW] pfscalibration should be added to universe.

2009-09-22 Thread Maimon Mons
Public bug reported:

pfscalibration ( http://pfstools.sourceforge.net/pfscalibration.html ),
a part of pfstools, is not in the universe repository, even though
pfstools is in the repository.

pfscalibration includes some nice command line utilities that help those
that wish to manipulate high dynamic range (HDR) images on Ubuntu. It
is fairly simple to compile (the only requirement is libpfs-dev, which
is already in the repositories).

Please add it to universe.

Now, does digikam *really* need both qt3 and qt4? Also, does it need

like it's installing the entire kubuntu base.

Is it possible to pare this down a bit for Ubuntu 9.04 (if not for

[Bug 297835] [NEW] Digikam has too many dependencies in Ubuntu

2008-11-13 Thread Maimon Mons
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: digikam

On a fresh installation of Ubuntu 8.10, apt-get install digikam wants
to install a slew of other applications, including both kdebase-bin,
dolphin and konqueror, k3b, and most (if not all) of qt4.

It seems somewhat excessive. 86 packages in total, not including
suggested or recommended packages. Does digikam really need to install
two file managers when nautilus is already installed?

[Bug 282214] Re: Nvidia does not work with Geforce 6100

2008-11-10 Thread Maimon Mons
For what it's worth, the v96 drivers that were recently added to the
repositories seems to work, at least for me.

While not the latest, it at least doesn't require rebooting the X server
after each reboot of the system.

Since the latest drivers still don't work, I guess this bug should
remain open.

Can others confirm that the older driver that was added to the
repository seems to work? It's a new option under the
System-Administration-Hardware Drivers.

[Bug 271432] [NEW] No high score available in gnome-sudoku

In gnome-sudoku 2.22.3 (packaged for Ubuntu 8.04), there is no high
score available either at the end of the game or in the menus.

[Bug 224772] [NEW] Cover art stored in ID3 tags should take precidence over cover.jpg (and other) image files in the same directory

2008-04-30 Thread Maimon Mons
Public bug reported:

Currently, cover art stored in ID3 tags in mp3 files are viewable in
amarok. This is not the case, however, if any other .jpg images files
are in the same directory.

Use case:
Directory: Music/A/
Files:
Abba - Abba.jpg
Abba - Abba - 01 - Mamma Mia.mp3
Ace Of Base - The Sign - 02 - All That She Wants.mp3

Even if the Ace of Base song has embedded cover art, the Abba -
Abba.jpg image file is showed while the Ace of Base song is played.

The expected behavior that while the Ace of Base song is being played,
the cover art for the Ace of Base song (embedded in the .mp3) should be
viewed, even though there are other .jpg files in the same folder.

(Please don't bash me too much regarding my music tastes. :-) )

[Bug 65048] Ubuntu needs a NFS mount wizard

2006-10-10 Thread Maimon Mons
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu needs a wizard that will be activated when Places - Network
Servers is used to find another computer on the LAN. When a computer on
the LAN is connected to, a wizard should pop up, asking the user to
supply a username/password to log onto the remote computer. Once the
username/password combination is confirmed by the remote computer, the
individual has access to the visible folders on the remote computer.

This will mirror similar behavior seen when a user on a WinXP machine
browses the LAN and selects an OS X machine. Once the user on the WinXP
machine enters a username/password which is valid on the OS X machine,
he sees that username's folders on the OS X machine.

For usability reasons, the end user on Ubuntu should not have to delve
into config files. Instead the wizard should make the edits necessary
(using gksudo if necessary).

[Bug 52881] Nautilus failes w/o notification when copying files with similar names to fat32.

2006-07-13 Thread Maimon Mons
Public bug reported:

Nautilus does did not give an error message when copying two files with
similar names except for capitalization from a case-sensitive file
system (ext3) to a case-retentive file system (fat32).

This is important since many removable drives are set up as fat32 for
maximum interoperability.

To reproduce:
1. Setup 2 partitions. Partition1 should be ext3. Partition2 should be fat32.
2. Create 2 files in partition1 with the names filetobecopied and FileToBeCopied
3. Using nautlus, drag and drop the two files to a directory in Partition2.

Result: The first file is copied over, and nautilus silently fails to
copy the second file.

Expected result: The first file is copied over, and nautilus gives an error
message with the following options:
A. Abort the copy process.
B. Overwrite the first file with the second file, continue copying any other
files.
C. Give the second file a new name, continue copying any other files.

[Bug 52452] Re: Nautilus to FreeNAS SMB --- Some files not copied w/o errors

2006-07-13 Thread Maimon Mons
May I ask what filesystems were involved in the transfer? Were you
copying to a fat32 filesystem?
