[Bug 332266] [NEW] SPARC: sun_esp and esp_scsi modules missing on Jaunty daily CD image
Public bug reported: The currrent (as of Feb 20 2009) SPARC alternate install CD Image from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ports/daily/current/ cannot be used to install Ubuntu on a Sun Ultra 2, because it lacks the right module(s) for the onboard SCSI adapter. Debian 5.0 Lenny for SPARC has two modules called sun_esp and esp_scsi; could they be included in Jaunty's CD image as well? Might bring a bit of joy for the Sun Ultra1 and Ultra2 owners. A side note: the Ultra2's CD drive appears as /dev/sr0 on Lenny, and there is no symlink /dev/cdrom pointing to it - so Lenny's installer hiccups until you tell it that it should look for the CD drive at /dev/sr0 instead of /dev/cdrom - might be something to keep in mind in this context.
