[Bug 1616334] [NEW] Firejail symlink for firefox does not work because of wrapper script
Public bug reported: When setting up a jailed firefox via `ln -s /usr/bin/firejail /usr/local/bin/firefox`, firefox fails to start with a "profile inaccessible" message. This happens because /usr/bin/firefox is a symlink to /usr/lib/firefox/firefox.sh, which makes firejail look for "firefox.sh.profile", which is not available. Firejail then uses a default profile which is too restrictive for firefox. I have worked around this by symlinking ~/.config/firejail/firefox.sh.profile to /etc/firejail/firefox.profile. The package should probably provide a similar symlink in /etc/firejail to make this work out of the box. [Bug 406397] Re: init: job stuck with expect fork/daemon when parent reaps child
I ran into this again and found a new (?) way of fixing the situation once it has happened that is slightly less crazy than the exhaust-all- pids script: The /proc/sys/kernel/ns_last_pid knob can be used to get a process with the correct PID. I used echo $(($n-2)) | sudo tee /proc/sys/kernel/ns_last_pid bash -c 'sleep 60 ' Where $n is the PID that upstart is tracking (output of 'status'). The -2 is necessary because the bash process gets a pid first. The sleep should wind up with the tracked PID and as a child of the init process. Maybe there is a simpler way, but this worked for me. Note that is a relatively new kernel feature. It works with the saucy kernel, I don't know about earlier releases. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/406397 Title: init: job stuck with expect fork/daemon when parent reaps child To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/upstart/+bug/406397/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 960022] Re: dicomscope fails to start with undefined symbol error
Two possible workarounds: - Link libjInterface (part of dicomscope) against libdcmnet and other indirectly needed libraries. - Manually load the needed libraries in dicomscope itself before loading libjInterface in tkgui/main/MainContext.java . I have not tried these myself, though. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/960022 Title: dicomscope fails to start with undefined symbol error To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dicomscope/+bug/960022/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 960022] Re: dicomscope fails to start with undefined symbol error
The problem is - as far as I understand it - that some dcmtk libraries (libdcmtls in the example) use symbols from other libraries (i.e. libdcmnet), but are not linked against them. Because of that, the java library-loader does not know it also needs to load dcmnet when it loads dcmtls. Basically, all that is needed specifying the required libraries with the -l linker flag when compiling the dcmtk libs. One can use --Xlinker --no-undefined to enforce that all required libraries are listed. I verified this by recompiling some of the libraries by hand. Sadly I have no clue about cmake and don't know how to fix the dcmtk build process.
[Bug 992174] Re: Blank screen after suspend/resume
Confirmed the bug with upstream kernel (3.4.0-030400rc4). I should also add that this was NOT introduced by precise, but also existed in oneiric and previous releases. [Bug 973432] [NEW] APTGETOPT setting doesn't reach satisfy-depends command
Public bug reported: The configuration file /usr/share/pbuilder/pbuilderrc defines the variable APTGETOPT which is used by (among others) /usr/lib/pbuilder /pbuilder-satisfydepends-gdebi. But since APTGETOPT is defined as a shell array and satisfy-depends is invoked as a sub-command, the setting never reaches the command because the shell cannot pass arrays to sub-processes. [Bug 488698] Re: Task switcher leaves shadow on other screen
As it turns out, this seems to be related to the dropbox client. The dropbox client pulls in a lot of gnome dependencies (nautilus, mainly), which seems to confuse KDE to some extend. The problem disappears when I shut down the dropbox client and kill the nautilus processes spawned by it. I guess the best solution for this would be for the dropbox people to make a desktop-independent client. It's ok if nobody here wants to bother with this, feel free to close it.
