Hi, I think that the problem is a little bit different. After some tests perhaps it is a problem related to the permissions of the file. The problem is present before that the OS is executed. [Bug 1579781] Re: librxtx-java fails to open /dev/ttyACM0 port!
Hi, some mounts ago I wrote a code able to read/write USB port in order to communicate with an Arduino 2560. The code is written in Java. The code works perfectly with Ubuntu 14.04. Some days ago I upgraded to Ubuntu 16.04 from scratch (completely erasing the OS partition) and I installed the GNU IO library. I expected to run my code as in the previous OS 14.04 but when I tired to execute my code I noticed a problem. The problem was the inability to access the /dev/ttyACM0 (using the root user and a normal 'dialout' user). In order to resolve the problem I tried to update the OpenJDK because Java8 was already installed. During the upgrade I got the bug #1550950. After this partial upgrade GNU IO was not runnable: the problem was not solved. I resolved the problem using galternatives and setting for each j* voice the 1081 choice (in each place where it was present). Please write me if you need more explanation. I am glad to help the linux community. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1579781 Title: librxtx-java fails to open /dev/ttyACM0 port! [Bug 1576768] Re: user can not access USB devices
Hi, I have tried to reboot. The problem exists using Win7 and WinXP. I think that it is independent from the OS. By using the Oracle VM Virtuallbox manager, if I click with the mouse over the setting of a configured or UNCOFIGURED virtual machine I do not see USB devices. With unconfigured I intend that I have created the VM but I have not installed the OS. Summarizing, if the VM Virtuallbox manager (in Italian Oracle VM Virtualbox Gestore) on a new VM machine (only created) does not see the USB devices it is not a problem of the OS. [Bug 1516329] [NEW] DNS BUG delay resolution of LAN DNS
Public bug reported: I have a little LAN (3 computers) where each computer uses UBUNTU 14.04 LTS. The LAN has a server that assigns the IP address by MAC ADDRESS and provides DNS resolution for local computers. The BUG is for each computer of the network (I have not tested the server that is and ODROID and has not monitor and keyboard). For example a computer is called "core". If I try to connect to "core I got the following message: ssh -X core ssh: Could not resolve hostname core: Name or service not known and if I try lookup command I got User:marco Computer:i7 Base:marco Current:/media/data/users/home/marco Command 1003 of 14 $nslookup gaia Server: 127.0.1.1 Address:127.0.1.1#53 ** server can't find core: NXDOMAIN After a random time (it can be few seconds or some minutes) the address is resolved $nslookup gaia Server: 127.0.1.1 Address:127.0.1.1#53 Name: gaia.lab Address: 10.10.100.11 and after the first resolution the address are resolved for all the computers of the LAN. I have not problems to resolve the address outside the LAN. the reverse address is decoded: nslookup 10.10.100.11 Server: 127.0.1.1 Address:127.0.1.1#53 11.100.10.10.in-addr.arpa name = gaia.lab.
