[Bug 1055973] Re: Evolution 3.6.0 - Restore from backup fails

2012-09-26 Thread Mario Manno
Happened to me, too. Evo unpacked about 2gb of mails, but forgot the
accounts, settings, etc. The local inbox (I don't use it) was restored
successfully.

I'd expected Evolution to restore my settings and account information.
All the mail is on IMAP servers anyways.

I got this error message without upgrading from lucid.
I fixed the vm by using a free vnc port. For some reason the vnc port was
hardcoded in the config file.

[Bug 848250] Re: Tomboy sync fails on Oneiric, New Note Template already exists

2011-11-19 Thread Mario Manno
Got the same error without dropboux, but with the Local Folder- and
SSH-methods. However the New Note Template note gets' uploaded every
time.

I can delete the template note using preferences/open note
template/convert to regular/delete. After deleting the note on both
sides, one sync works fine. Next time it is re-created automatically and
the sync fails again.

[Bug 405294] Re: a2dp skips terribly

2011-04-06 Thread Mario Manno
My bluetooth headset worked fine with maverick. Had to use blueman from time to
time to disconnect, connect to audio.
I upgraded to natty a while ago and shortIy after that the bluetooth problems
startet: stuttering sound, skipping messages in syslog (15/s).
Connecting mid-playback does not help. There are no other bluetooth devices
connected.

I just tried the same headphones on my laptop and they work. The laptop
has built-in bluetooth. Trying to use the usb dongle from my desktop
resulted in the same problems with the laptop, too. So I guess in my
case this is usb/bluetooth related.

2011-04-06 Thread Mario Manno
Sounds like the devices are using the headset service, which is made
for telephony. If you want to play audio you need to connect to the
audio sink or a2dp profile.

Try to install 'blueman' and open System/Preferences/Bluetooth
Manager. That should give you more control.

[Bug 21178] Re: evolution chokes when a large txt file is in attachment

2008-08-24 Thread Mario Manno
Evolution 2.22.3 will give up rendering after trying for some time and
display a warning: Evolution cannot render this email as it is too
large to handle. You can view it unformatted or with an external text
editor.

You can create a simple test file with
   perl -e 'print \nx100' /tmp/evil.txt

The upstream bug is about evolution honoring Content-Disposition:
inline for attachments.

There are several issues here:
* there is no option to ignore content-disposition:inline to prevent harmful
attachments from displaying automatically (#229013)
* rendering texts uses too much memory and cpu (1mb newlines = 50% ram)
* after displaying the warning evolution continues to consume memory and does
not free it until program exits

[Bug 237118] Re: ifplugd does stop on suspend, but does not start again with resume

2008-08-11 Thread Mario Manno
The patch from #325614 should propably applied to ifplugd in intrepid.

But, actually this does not relate to this bug, can someone delete this
'also affects distribution' entry?

** Changed in: debian
Sourcepackagename: ifplugd = None

I think hardys scripts work if you put the interface in INTERFACES and
HOTPLUG_INTERFACES, and set SUSPEND_ACTION=suspend.

[Bug 157773] Re: X Server is crashing with nvidia driver on Geforce 8xxx series cards in Ubuntu Gutsy

2008-04-12 Thread Mario Manno
I upgraded my gutsy installation to hardy and i ran into this bug.

After editing /etc/default/linux-restricted-modules-common, the
nvidia_new driver loads correctly.

  DISABLED_MODULES=nvidia nvidia_legacy

I tried editing /etc/modprobe.d and /etc/modules first, but to no success.
A 'nvidia.ko' in /lib/modules/`uname -r`/volatile is always preferred to a
'nvidia_new.ko'?

[Bug 195908] Re: seahorse-agent not invoked for second ssh key

2008-04-12 Thread Mario Manno
The solution described in http://live.gnome.org/GnomeKeyring/Ssh works
for me.

Running the following shell script made all my ssh keys usable again:
 mkdir ~/.gnome2/keystore; for i in ~/.ssh/*pub; do key=$(basename $i
.pub); echo -e [default]\npurposes=ssh-authentication
~/.gnome2/keystore/${key}.keystore; ln -s ~/.ssh/$key ~/.gnome2/keystore/; done

[Bug 106513] Re: Beagle search keeps telling me Your data is being indexed

2007-06-29 Thread Mario Manno
Beagle starts crawling my filesystem after every reboot?
I think this is a bad idea, beagle will never really finish.

After 7 hours of uptime:
% beagle-info --status
Scheduler:
Count: 283187
Status: Waiting for next task at 29/06/2007 22:40:41

[...]

Blocked Tasks:
Delayed 0 (29/06/2007 22:43:41)
File Crawler

And some directories have been crawled 47 times in the last 7 hours,
according to the log file.

[Bug 89235] Re: can no longer jump words with CTRL-arrow in gnome-terminal

2007-06-13 Thread Mario Manno
I had to update my zsh config file for the keys to workk in feisty

-bindkey '\e[5C' forward-word
-bindkey '\e[5D' backward-word
+bindkey '^[[1;5C' forward-word
+bindkey '^[[1;5D' backward-word

Now the keys work in gnome-terminal/xterm.

Bash is a different matter, though.I guess something in readline
changed, maybe 8bit related?

[Bug 89235] Re: can no longer jump words with CTRL-arrow in gnome-terminal

2007-06-13 Thread Mario Manno
Since i can't edit my old entries:
Bash simply isn't parsing /etc/inputrc anymore and the mapping has to be
\e[1;5C not \e[01;5C.
Keys are still not working in vim using gnome-terminal (vte related), as
described in bug #89660

[Bug 21399] Re: evolution crashes on quit

2007-02-09 Thread Mario Manno
Hi, I just copied my one year old vfolders.xml onto
.evolution/mail/vfolders.xml.
This file was known to trigger the bug, but does not anymore.

I think the 'UNMATCHED' folder in vfolders.xml was the problem last
year:

sources with=specific
folder uri=email://[EMAIL PROTECTED]/UNMATCHED/
folder uri=email://[EMAIL PROTECTED]/INBOX/Groups/All/
/sources

Currently i can't reproduce the bug on edgy.
