[Bug 1168648] [NEW] Synaptic crashes when selecting one or several files when using the filter not installed (residual configuration).
Public bug reported: There is a workaround for single file operations, which is directly right-clicking and selecting the operation to perform on the package. The bug presents if: you either right or left click any package in said filter while holding a key, or if you left click any package. Since I'm reporting through apport, I guess the needed logs are sent by the program. Let me know if I'm wrong, and I'll try to get them for you. There is also lots of the following warnings when I launch Synaptic from console, but everything else is normal: synaptic:12869): Gtk-WARNING **: GtkNotebook 0x14ff4a0 is mapped but visible child GtkLabel 0x17b5140 is not mapped (synaptic:12869): Gtk-WARNING **: GtkNotebook 0x14ff4a0 is mapped but visible child GtkLabel 0x17b5270 is not mapped (synaptic:12869): Gtk-WARNING **: GtkNotebook 0x14ff4a0 is mapped but visible child GtkLabel 0x17b5600 is not mapped These are just three to give an example. The first address in the warning is always constant, and the second one is variable. Else, console's output looks normal. Did you (users suffering this problem) checked that you are actually connected to the computer you try to use SSH with? My case is not bug (or at least, the action which triggers it is to not be connected to the same router with both computers, the other one is connected to another router and is the routers which are connected each other, anyway, the bug is triggered when using in a useless way XD). But not everyone has the same expectations when involving. What's your point, then? That you use opendarwin? It is the same point here, you are complaining like a little girl, don't you? Telling everyone else that they should work more, when you are doing nothing to help. Also, the 1.5 years old bug started to affect me just when I upgraded to Natty, I use Maverick in two other computers and works, and it worked for me in every other release. I have news for you, there might be: config mistakes; regressions; and you can compile a newer or older release to see if it works better. [Bug 424648] Re: Error: ssh program unexpectedly exited when trying to browse files on router
Also, you can use the same software recompiled for XNU, so your uname means nothing, as the bug, if in the GVFS, might actually affect you in XNU. FreeBSD (yes, the same it is sort of hybridized with a microkernel in XNU) claims source compatibility with linux. And there are hard to catch bugs too. It is not always lazyness, there are random bugs, hardware dependant bugs, IF you are going to tell someone else they are lazy, maybe you can work to find the origin of the bug, you can commit patches too. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/424648 Title: Error: ssh program unexpectedly exited when trying to browse files on router -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 528404] [NEW] ureadahead crashes after upgrade
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ureadahead I upgraded to Lucid Alpha 3 in two computers. One of them is the one I'm reporting with, the other one can't finish booting yet. I found the ureadahead package is failing after last upgrade. On this computer (machine's data is in the report, 64 bits Ubuntu Lucid, used to be Alpha 2) I've found this error message in normal booting: init: ureadahead-other main process (734) terminated with status 4 broken pipeline And it didn't continue from that. I ran the recovery mode and solved the problem by dpkg packages repair. On the other computer, upgraded from 32 bits Karmic today, AMD Athlon 64 Dual Core about 2.5 GHz, 1GB RAM DDR2 667MHz, when trying to do the normal boot, when the text sequence finish, the screen goes black and don't continue from that. When trying to use the recovery mode, it crashes with - and | symbols around the screen when loading ureadahead, so I think both cases are coming from a common bug. If someone knows how to run a recovery mode from Live CD or USB, I'm all ears =) I hope it will be useful. Re: [Bug 523341] Re: software-center crashed with AttributeError in do_render()
Sorry, it was 1.1.12, seems ubuntu-ar (I use that mirror) didn't update at the time you sent the mail. 2010/2/23 Gary Lasker gary.las...@canonical.com Hi Mario, I'm sorry to hear that you are still hitting this issue. The version with this fix is software-center 1.1.13. Could you please verify that that's the version that you have? I'm actually not seeing this new version in the archives yet. Instead, I am still seeing 1.1.12, so I'm wondering if you by chance still have that version. You can check the version when running Software Center by just checking Help-About. Or, you can view your installed version plus the candidate version that's available in the archives using the terminal as shown: sudo apt-get update apt-cache policy software-center Please check this and drop a note here with what version you are currently running. If you are indeed running 1.1.13 and are still seeing this error, we will need to reopen this bug. Don't worry, seconds after I reported the bug there was an update fixing that. 2010/2/18 Michal Matyska michal.maty...@gmail.com Downgrading all firefox* packages to previous version (3.6+nobinonly-0ubuntu2) has solved the issue.
