[Bug 529901] [NEW] HP 311 touchpad not recognised
Public bug reported: I have the HP mini 311 which has a touchpad (I believe it is an ALPS) that is not recognised as a touchpad but shows up as a geneic PS/2 mouse. Since it appears as a generic mouse it isn't possible to configure the touchpad features such as disabling the touchpad when typing. The problem is present in Karmic, but I tried the alpha3 of lucid and the same problem exists there. [Bug 463086] [NEW] Eclipse loses button events with swt-gtk in karmic
Public bug reported: Eclipse on Karmic is unusable because buttons rarely respond to button events. Clicking on a button shows the button depressing but nothing happens. The only work around is to click the button so that it gets focus and then to hit the enter key which does actually register. The same eclipse package works fine on 9.04 so it appears to be the gtk implementation of swt or perhaps the gtk library. ** Affects: swt-gtk (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Eclipse loses button events with swt-gtk in karmic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/463086 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 131421] Re: Installer doesn't support corporate firewalls
I would also like to point out that the work around of adding Acquire::http::Proxy "http://yourproxyaddress:proxyport";; to the apt.conf file does not work since the installer is hanging when it tries to determine the mirror to use prior to running apt. The only way I have been able to get it to work is to set the http_proxy environment variable and run it from the cl. [Bug 131421] Installer doesn't support corporate firewalls
Public bug reported: When performing an install of either ubuntu or kubuntu and you are behind a corporate firewall, the install will hang when it gets to the stage of scanning mirrors. This is because you need to setup a http proxy before apt can work. It would be a simple case for the installer to allow the user to enter in a proxy server and have it all work. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Installer doesn't support corporate firewalls https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/131421 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

The live CD for 7.04 (and 6.10) starts fine but when X starts the screen turns off, even though the destop continues to load. ** Description changed: + Downloaded updates last night and now it doesn't work again. I suspect the problem + is in the initrd file loaded during boot but I have been unable to mount it and inspect what + is actually in it. + + --- + Ok I managed to get the normal live install disk to work by editing the xorg.conf file once it started, and when I did the install from it, I don't get the problem (for both knot3 and beta1). [Bug 62421] Re: no more mtrr available
** Description changed: + Ok I managed to get the normal live install disk to work by editing the xorg.conf file once it started, and when I did the install from it, I don't get the problem (for both knot3 and beta1). I spent a week trying to + figure out what was happening without success, but since the problem disappears when using the normal installer (once you get it to work), this bug can probably be ignored. + + - + Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.17-9-generic Since installing the edgy knot 3 CD I get errors when trying to load the fglrx driver about "mtrr: no more MTRRs available" If I have a look at /proc/mtrr I have reg00: base=0x ( 0MB), size=1024MB: write-back, count=1 reg01: base=0xd800 (3456MB), size= 128MB: write-combining, count=1 reg02: base=0xd7fc (3455MB), size= 128KB: write-combining, count=1 reg03: base=0xd7f8 (3455MB), size= 256KB: write-combining, count=1 reg04: base=0xd7f0 (3455MB), size= 512KB: write-combining, count=1 reg05: base=0xd7e0 (3454MB), size= 1MB: write-combining, count=1 reg06: base=0xd7c0 (3452MB), size= 2MB: write-combining, count=1 reg07: base=0xd780 (3448MB), size= 4MB: write-combining, count=1 which is completely different to what I got from the kernel in breezy.
