[Bug 1948340] [NEW] bash-completion breaks with environment Variables
Public bug reported: Why does: vi $VIRTUAL_ENV/bin/postact become vi \$VIRTUAL_ENV/bin/postactactivate on ubuntu 20.04 and vi $VIRTUAL_ENV/bin/postactactivate on macOS. The Ubuntu version ruins autocomplete for this command. macOS$ echo $BASH_VERSION 3.2.57(1)-release ubuntu$ echo ${BASH_VERSION} 5.0.17(1)-release Would be nice to be able to use bash-completion without is messing up so completely with reckless quoting. 1. USB keyboard works ok with other computer. Does the other computer run the same version of Ubuntu and uses grub also and it works on that one? [Bug 579672] Re: clock is not keeping time
When you boot your machine it will usually say press F1 or F2 for setup. This is to go into the bios setup menus. Check the clock there and make sure that it keeps time. Most machines have a coin size battery that keeps the clock running even when the power is shut off to the machine. If this battery is failing then this would cause ubuntu to also display the wrong time. Make sure the BIOS clock is correct, use your machine as normal. Ignore the ubuntu clock for now. Shutdown when your done using it like you normally do. Next time you power up go and check the BIOS first once again. Make sure the time is correct and hasn't defaulted back to 12:00 or something completely off. [Bug 579697] Re: Totem starts to play AVI, then stops with an error message
Maybe the codec isn't supported by totem which uses gstreamer. If you prefer to stick with totem as your video player then maybe you could install and test out totem-xine? Totem-xine supports DVD menus and probably other things that standard totem does when using gstreamer. If you do try this then I should point out that after the install is complete you will *not* see a launcher in the menu. You will have to edit the menu and look in sound and video and set it to visible, and then launch and test. [Bug 551625] [NEW] Printing any flash content causes printing problems in 8.04.4, 9.04, 10.04 beta 1
Public bug reported: I've been running Ubuntu 9.04 on my desktop machine for a long time now. Ive recently experienced a problem with printing in Firefox and Epiphany. Those are the only browsers I have tested. Whenever I open a page from Latest Headlines BBC pages in either Firefox or Epiphany, that contain Flash content, the print preview and actual hard copy prints are missing the image of the flash content as well as a lot of text. I originally thought it was a new bug introduced via updates. I have since did some testing with 8.04.4, 9.04, and 10.04 Beta 1 live CDs. They ALL behave identically. I'm not sure if this might be some sort of format change on Adobes behalf or what, no idea. Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this either. But I have tested on 3 live CDs with and without flash installed. [Bug 551625] Re: Printing any flash content causes printing problems in 8.04.4, 9.04, 10.04 beta 1
This problem occurs with and without a printer turned on, and with and without any 3rd party printer drivers installed. Since I saw this problem on basically all Ubuntu releases (didn't test 9.10) I wanted to check if it happened on other distros as well. This problem also exists in Mandriva 2010 gnome edition as well. So its not just Ubuntu that seems to be effected. This problem is not limited to just a single machine. It would probably really help if anyone could just check there machine and see if this effects them as well and report any results. I doubt I'm the only one. We have 2 printers in the house. Brother MFC-7840W and Brother HL-2140, both are USB monochrome laser printers. But like I said this happens with or without a printer attached because I see the same results in print preview. It does seem to be a browser only problem with flash content. -- Printing any flash content causes printing problems in 8.04.4, 9.04, 10.04 beta 1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/551625 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 550244] [NEW] Firefox 3.0.18 printing is missing half of text and all flash.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox-3.0 I recently filed a bug against CUPS but have since did more testing on a freshly installed Ubuntu 9.04. Firefox is the only application that I have issues with printing. I installed Google Chrome and it prints all of the text and flash without issue so CUPS seems to be fine. I printed a page from the BBC News and both left and right columns down the sides of the page print just fine, along with the title at the top.
