[Bug 720446] Re: memory leak in compiz when using places, dashboard, and exposing launcher icons with multiple quicklists

2013-01-03 Thread Mark Lanctot
Same here with indicator-multiload 0.2-0ubuntu2. I'm on Ubuntu 12.10
64-bit with 4 GB of RAM.

I left my computer on over the holidays. About midway through I noticed
I was using 3 GB of swap. Didn't investigate, restarted.

Today I was using swap again and noticed indicator-multiload was the
heaviest memory user at 1.1 GB. Shut down indicator-multiload and it's
fine when started again, currently at 11.6 MB. However it's rising by
about 1 MB every 2 or 3 seconds.

[Bug 1064962] Re: [SRU] Global menubar items do not work when opening a document directly from nautilus with no LibreOffice instance running

2012-10-30 Thread Mark Lanctot
I get this when opening a document from Recent documents.

It manifests itself in either of two ways:

- I get a little stub menu which contains no items - see attachment

- I get a menu as expected, but clicking on a menu item has no result

Hope the bugfix makes it out of testing soon, it's making LibreOffice
unusable.

Thank you.

[Bug 1003018] [NEW] No USB 3.0 support for Prolific PL2773

2012-05-22 Thread Mark Lanctot
Public bug reported:

This is in a Vantec CB-ISATAU3, an IDE/SATA USB3.0 adapter. It works
fine in USB 2.0 mode, but it does not work in USB 3.0, and indications
are it is not supported. dmesg | tail gives:

[ 2956.564327] usb 9-2: Device not responding to set address.
[ 2956.768312] usb 9-2: Device not responding to set address.

[ 2958.012040] hub 9-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 2

lsusb doesn't list any new devices on USB 3.0 mode, but in USB 2.0 mode:

Bus 002 Device 005: ID 067b:2773 Prolific Technology, Inc.

The controller seems to be Prolific Technology PL2773.

I should also add the USB 3.0 controller on the motherboard is an
ASMedia ASM 1042. It works fine with another USB 3.0 device, an ADATA
C103 16 GB flash drive.

[Bug 118843] Re: scanimage does not scan image with CanoScan FB630U

2011-04-05 Thread Mark Lanctot
Very intermittent operation here on Ubuntu 10.10 2.6.35-28-generic
#49-Ubuntu SMP x86_64.

It works about once per boot. It usually fails by working a little, the
scan mechanism jogs a little bit. After this it never works again,
either resulting in nothing, a device busy error or a device I/O
error. If I unplug and reinsert the USB cable I might get the mechanism
to jog again but the same errors after that.

I've got a suspicion that malformed commands are being sent to the
scanner, causing the mechanism to stop. Commands sent after that result
in errors and I'm getting the impression they're held in a software
queue, which is why the errors remain consistent until the USB plug is
removed. Once reinserted, the queue is cleared but the malformed
command is sent again.

Jaunty was the last version where this scanner worked well. It's been
this way ever since.
