[Bug 492194] [NEW] desktop wallpaper change very slow

2009-12-04 Thread Marko Viirelä
Public bug reported:

I am using a slideshow of tiled background images from Propaganda as my
desktop background. I have selected a directory of these images using
Desktop Settings dialog. My problem is that whenever a background
changes, my desktop slows to crawl for several seconds. I actually have
time to launch top during background change only to see Xorg process
happily eating away my processor cycles.

Forgot to mention that this problem started to occur after I upgraded to
Kubuntu 9.10 from previous version. Before that background change was
lightning fast (as it should be).

[Bug 50560] Re: Installer crash on kubuntu 6.0.6

2006-06-21 Thread Marko Viirelä
I tried to reinstall using safe graphics mode and it worked perfectly.
So it may be an issue with Matrox G550 card...

On the other hand I forgot to format /usr -partition from my previous
fedora 4 -install before installing kubuntu on my first attempt so that
could have played a role also...
