[Bug 1624771] Re: cacti is incompatible with PHP7.0 (xenial)

2016-09-18 Thread Markus Peter
Ok, that was a problem on my system with dbconfig-common not generating
said config.

Fixed by installing dbconfig-mysql and completely reinstalling cacti.

[Bug 1624769] [NEW] jffnms doesn't work with postgres

2016-09-17 Thread Markus Peter
Public bug reported:

jffnms has the capability to be used with mysql or postgres through
dbconfig-common.

Unfortunately, the pgsql install script was created with
mysqldumptopostgres or some such utility and apparently not tested,
since it doesn't work at all.

[Bug 1624768] [NEW] jffnms is incompatible to PHP7.0

2016-09-17 Thread Markus Peter
Public bug reported:

As with some other PHP dependent packages in Ubuntu 16.04, this one was
ported without testing it.

There is a depencency on php7.0-mysql, but this only provides pdo-mysql,
mysqli and mysqlnd, not the needed mysql.

So it can be installed, but not run.

[Bug 1072813] [NEW] puppetd hangs/slow downs - already fixed in upstream

2012-10-29 Thread Markus Peter
Public bug reported:

A bug in puppet, which was already fixed upstream in 2.7.11, can cause
occasional hangs in one-time mode and slow downs in general, caused by a
bug in the file
lib/puppet/util/instrumentation/listeners/process_name.rb

Upstream bugs describing the problem
http://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/12588 and
http://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/12310 lead to a fix in 2.7.11: The
file was simply removed from puppet 2.7.11 as it was only an example for
a new API anyway.

Unfortunately, the Debian/Ubuntu puppet distribution still contains the
file, as patches/debian-changes re-adds the file. I suppose this was
simply a small mistake during the merge of the upstream release.

The file should be removed from the Debian/Ubuntu puppet distribution to
fix the mentioned problems.
