[Bug 579633] Re: Unmet dependencies

2010-05-12 Thread Eric Martel
Forgot to mention I have an amd64 platform updated from 9.04.
In Synaptic, all package repositories were enabled.

But I went further; from the previous error message, I ran:

$ sudo apt-get install libglib2.0-cil-dev
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  libglib2.0-cil-dev: Depends: libglib2.0-cil (= 2.12.9-4) but
2.12.9-4ubuntu0~ppa1 is to be installed
E: Broken packages

$ sudo apt-get install libglib2.0-cil
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
libglib2.0-cil is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

So I uninstalled libglib2.0-cil and reran "sudo apt-get install gtk-
sharp2", and everything went just fine... Maybe the installed
libglib2.0-cil was from 9.04...? Anyway, I'm really sorry for the
inconvenience.

[Bug 435805] Re: Icons overlap for categories with >= 9 rows

2010-02-15 Thread Eric Martel
Karmic fully updated on Asus EeePC 701 4G, 800x480; exact same
observations as Nicolas M (comment #37). My system is in French, if that
can make any difference.

[Bug 493832] [NEW] Nautilus doesn't prompt for WebDAV password if it is needed for writing only

2009-12-07 Thread Eric Martel
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

If in Apache I set a Dav directory with the following limit (read is
allowed for everyone, but only authenticated users can write to it):

Require valid-user

Using a dav:// URL, Nautilus will access this directory in read mode,
which is OK. However, if I try to put something into the directory,
Nautilus won't prompt me for a password and just give me an access
denied error.

If I try the same thing using Konqueror (with a webdav:// URL),
Konqueror will also give me normal access in read mode, but if I try to
put something into the directory then it will prompt me for a password
and the transfer will then successfully occur: that is the expected
behavior.

[Bug 125970] Re: slow scroll with image as background-repeat

2008-11-18 Thread Martel
Intrepid, Firefox 3.0.4, 180.06 Nvidia beta drivers and
http://lubosz.de/Firefox3PerformanceBug/ is still very choppy. It's much
better than on earlierNVidia drivers but still pretty unusable on this
test site. Athlon XP 2200+, 2 GB RAM, btw.

[Bug 38131] Re: Firefox causes massive Xorg CPU usage

2008-11-12 Thread Martel
> Can people try to reproduce with the above pages while javascript is
disabled?

When on http://tech.mevio.com/ it's active scrolling that gets Xorg to
use lots of CPU.

But I'm not sure if it's related to firefox alone. I think I have
observed the same behaviour with thunderbird. So it's more like
Mozilla's framework and Xorg that aren't playing nice with each other.

[Bug 38131] Re: Firefox causes massive Xorg CPU usage

2008-11-11 Thread Martel
The problem is not related to exa or xaa rendering. I'm using XAA and
I'm on Intrepid and a decent enough hardware - AthlonXP 2200+, 2 GB Ram
and NVidia GF 6600 GT. See the screenshot - it's captured at almost zero
activity.

Some more data - my Xorg video config.

Section "Device"
 Identifier "GeForce 6600 GT"
 Busid "PCI:1:0:0"
 Driver "nvidia"
 Option "AddARGBVisuals" "True"
 Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "True"
 Option "NoLogo" "True"
 Option "PixmapCacheSize" "100"
 Option "AllowSHMPixmaps" "0"
 Option "AccelMethod" "XAA"
 Option "RenderAccel" "true"
 Option "EnablePageFlip" "true"
EndSection

If you need any additional info please let me know. But please be as
verbose as you can as I don't really understand the technical babble
like "attach to the Xorg process (...) and look at backtraces".

[Bug 151324] Re: xorg cpu spin

2008-11-11 Thread Martel
This happens to me also. On Intrepid and a decent enough hardware -
AthlonXP 2200+, 2 GB Ram and NVidia GF 6600 GT. See the screenshot -
it's captured at almost zero activity. I think the spikes are related to
Java somehow but I may be mistaken - especially when you run firefox and
eclipse at the same time. After some time CPU load on my computer jumps
to 100% and it starts to behave jerky.
