Expected Result: Application windows are rendered correctly, there are no visible graphical glitches. Actual Result: There are graphical glithes where the active window is only rendered partially, e.g. switching from Thunderbird to Chromium leads to a mixture of both applications. When hovering the mouse pointer over elements, those are updated and rendered correctly. The same effect may happen when minimizing / maximizing windows. OS: Ubuntu 13.10 Affected package: chromium-browser (29.0.1547.65-0ubuntu2) The following addons are affected by this issue as well: Adblock, iReader, SlickRSS and Flashblock, which are all of my installed addons. Since I'm relying on Google Sync and it seems a bit risky to me to switch over to development builds, I didn't test the fix above. Steps to reproduce the issue: Setting screen resolution, primary display and desktop mode to the desired values as well as screen positioning. Setup is: Primary display: 1366x768, Secondary display: 1600x900, extended desktop, secondary display left of primary display. Expected result: Lightdm and unity-greeter are using display setup by the user. Actual result: Primary display is running with a resolution of 1024x768 with black borders left and right, while secondary display is running the same resolution (1024x768), streched. The displays are mirrored. Notes: Workaround #6 does work for me. Whether Plasma is active nor the start menu. Right-clicking doesn't show any context menus as well. I'm running the test installation inside Virtual Box, but as it is also posted by another user on the german ubuntuusers forum, the emulation doesn't seem to be the cause. Output of /var/log/syslog shows a segfaulted Plasma, caused by qtlib4.5.0. I can confirm this bug using Ubuntu 8.10 and 'openjdk-6-jdk' (6b12-0ubuntu6), too. It seems to affect all Java applications using Swing and the Metal LookFeel. Find another screenshot (showing FreeMind, NetBeans and jDownloader) attached. As captn pointed out, only OpenJDK seems to be affected. Rendering using SunJDK seems to work okay.
