[Bug 1703801] Re: resolution reduced when switching to full screen and back

2017-07-13 Thread Martin Konôpka
Yes, the Window geometry hints were turned on (it is the default) and,
exactly as you write, turning off the option helped. Thanks.

Thanks, it helped! No more error messages when using any of the two
alternatives.

[Bug 1689297] [NEW] GNU Octave Ubuntu MATE: invalid string

2017-05-08 Thread Martin Konôpka
Public bug reported:

How to reproduce the bug on Ubuntu 16.04 MATE, 64-bit version:

1.) Create a file, e.g. add.m with a single line
a = 2 + 3

2.) Launch GNU Octave in the non-interactive regime, either issuing the
command

octave -q -f add.m
or even
octave -q -f --no-gui add.m

3.) In both cases an annoying message
/usr/share/themes/Radiant-MATE/gtk-2.0/apps/mate-panel.rc:30: error: invalid
string constant "scrollbar", expected valid string constant

is typed on the terminal, before the result of the calculation appears.

Please realise that if one makes a series of non-interactive
calculations with GNU Octave then the terminal workspace becomes covered
by useless information, the repeated messages are really annoying and
working with the program becomes uncomfortable.

ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04
Package: octave 4.0.0-3ubuntu9.1
ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.4.0-75.96-generic 4.4.59

[Bug 1586632] [NEW] no prompt for password after resuming from suspend

2016-05-28 Thread Martin Konôpka
Public bug reported:

computer: HP ZBook 15 (1st generation, 2013)
OS: ubuntu-mate 16.04 (Xenial, 64 bit)

1.) The notebook power cable is plugged in.

2.) I close the notebook lid. OS goes to suspend state as it should.

3.) After some time I lift the lid and shortly press the power button.
The OS wakes up without prompting for any password.

I think that in this situation user's password should by required for
privacy and security reasons.

My screensaver setting is such that no password is required after
termination of the screensaver session. (I do not like to type password
every time the screensaver turn on. However, I wish to be prompted for
my password when the system resumes from the suspend (or hibernation).
