[Bug 318686] [NEW] Jaunty should deliver python2.6
Public bug reported: Jaunty doesn't deliver a python2.6. This would easy migration for a lot of people to python3.0 since 2.6 does have the -3 option and could at least warn about incompatibilities. Please package 2.6 for Jaunty. ** Affects: python-defaults (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Jaunty should deliver python2.6 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/318686 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 203594] Re: xmonad does not have xinerama/twinview support - possibly a libgch6-x11 problem
+1 for adding the new packages of debian so that xinerama works. Please, I'd really like to see a no problems install of xmonad with ubuntu :) thanks martin -- xmonad does not have xinerama/twinview support - possibly a libgch6-x11 problem https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/203594 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 51315] Re: udevd: nss_ldap: failed to bind to LDAP server
I'm in the same situation. After all I'd suggest dropping ubuntu in environments with these requirements. Personally I'll go back to Debian. I'll miss the X config stuff that works most of the time for me, but on the other end once I updated my template to deploy with etch or testing again on the boxes I'll be done with. And I can be pretty sure that bugs like these are fixed within a considerable amount of time by debian. -- udevd: nss_ldap: failed to bind to LDAP server https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/51315 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Don't know if that helps anyone but I found a workaround for that. [Bug 139543] Re: firefox .deb overwrites firefox.cfg which stores systemwide settings such as startpage, proxy
Please correct this it is a showstopper for me to use ubuntu+firefox in our company _on all clients_. I'd have to switch to debian to be able to reuse most parts of the infrastructure but configuring all your desktop goodies on debian is quit a lot of work -- firefox .deb overwrites firefox.cfg which stores systemwide settings such as startpage, proxy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/139543 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 67111] Re: Cyrus linked against db4.4 compiled against 4.3 ?
I agree, I chose ubuntu because of it's release cycles (used to have gentoo but it is too maintenance intensive and before that debian but it is too slow/old in it's stable tree). Installing a package and having it immediately segfault (especially something like cyrus) is kind of a show stopper for. Hope this will be fixed ASAP as I really like the rest of the ubuntu infrastructure but packages like these should really work out of the box with a default config... -- Cyrus linked against db4.4 compiled against 4.3 ? https://launchpad.net/bugs/67111 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
