[Bug 1871306] Re: [SRU]No sound from internal card chtmax98090 - missing UCM2 files in alsa-ucm-conf 1.2.2, available in alsa-ucm-conf 1.2.3
I installed 20.10 on my Dell Chromebook 3120 and then installed alsa- ucm-conf from https://packages.debian.org/testing/alsa-ucm-conf and got working sound. (Thanks for the tips @Gabirele) The volume was very low initially and i had to use alsamixer to increase it. But even after i increase the volume to the highest/maximum, i still feel it is lower than what it was with the chromeos. @Gabirele was this your experience too? Is there a way to further increase the sound volume? ** Attachment added: "pavucontrol.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-ucm-conf/+bug/1871306/+attachment/5429131/+files/pavucontrol.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1871306 Title: [SRU]No sound from internal card chtmax98090 - missing UCM2 files in alsa-ucm-conf 1.2.2, available in alsa-ucm-conf 1.2.3 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-ucm-conf/+bug/1871306/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Since the sound works fine with 5.8 kernel, is it a possibility to have this fix pushed in groovy first so that when it is released it contains the fix? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1871306 Title: [SRU]No sound from internal card chtmax98090 - missing UCM2 files in alsa-ucm-conf 1.2.2, available in alsa-ucm-conf 1.2.3 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-ucm-conf/+bug/1871306/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

@Gabirele thanks for reporting that the problem does not happen with kernel 5.8.x I'd like to do some testing with kernel 5.8 but that won't be atleast for a week. thanks for working on this @Hui and @Gabirele Today i added ppa:hui.wang/pa-testing and installed alsa-ucm-conf followed by an "apt update; apt upgrade" when i rebooted the system after that, i was so happy to have the sound working. sound worked from browser (while watching youtube videos) and also from media players. But when I opened the pulse audio volume control, i noticed a strange behavior. Suddenly the sound became garbled. I could still hear the sound but it was very garbled. Same behavior observed when i tried to do a zoom conference. The sound on zoom was also very much garbled. [Bug 452635] [NEW] kernel panic on VIA VT6421 (9.10 beta)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.31-14-generic Xubuntu 9.10 beta and Kubuntu 9.10 beta live cd's won't boot on my system with a kernel panic. I tried to install using alternate CD's. Alternate CD's give error after disk partitioning that it can not mount the partitions on the disk. My system has a VIA VT6421 SATA chipset and the Kernel Panic happens with this Chipset. I then downloaded the daily build (of Oct 15th, 2009) of Xubuntu to see if that boots on this machine. It also has the same Kernel Panic. For the record, the other OS I have on this system is Windows and it works perfectly. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- kernel panic on VIA VT6421 (9.10 beta) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/452635 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 148217] Re: automounter doesn't automatically mount network folders
All my systems are running 8.04 Did get a chance to try 8.10 I think the problem is because of autofs4 and I fixed this problem in 8.04 by upgrading autofs to autofs5 from http://ftp.twaren.net/ubuntu/pool/universe/a/autofs5 Probably this would work if 8.10 has autofs5 by default but can't confirm now. sorry. -- automounter doesn't automatically mount network folders https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/148217 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 213574] Re: Autofs fails to start with maps from NIS
I too face the same problem in 8.04. my home directory doesn't get auto mounted when I configure my system to use NIS. [Bug 50430] Re: NIS has problems starting before the network comes up
I too can confirm the problem. nis starts before network is fully up and times out. It would be great if this bug is fixed and the functionality works out of the box without having to remove network manager. I also have a problem with automounter not mounting my home directory. I had to create my own /etc/auto.home (This happens only with 8.04 and with previous versions the automounter used to work fine) -- NIS has problems starting before the network comes up https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/50430 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
