[Bug 1424769] Re: virtualbox-guest-x11 uninstallable with mesa-lts-utopic

2015-11-11 Thread Mats Wichmann
FIghting this problem too, was trying to build a vm from the current
ISO. The previous poster's solution doesn't seem to apply cleanly for me
- have quite a few more complaints, and then if proceed anyway, end up
with a kernel/initrd combo that doesn't boot. Trying to build guest
additions from the vbox sources (their iso) fails, as it quits claiming
an unrecognized x11 version.

I am happy to report that the packages from the location listed above
(https://launchpad.net/~costamagnagianfranco/+archive/ubuntu/virtualbox-
ppa/+packages) do let things work for me.

[Bug 38760] Re: ata timeout with sony vgn-s580 laptop

2008-05-05 Thread Mats Wichmann
You're right in a way: I don't personally care any more. I ran Fedora
on the laptop instead, that worked fine. Just a couple of months ago I
tried a Hardy live CD in case things had gotten better and it was just
as broken. I'll take this as a reflection on how much you guys actually
want reports on making Ubuntu work on a wider range of hardware. I won't
waste my time again.
