[Bug 533105] Re: Ubuntu software center doesn't follow gnome proxy settings auth.

2011-05-03 Thread Mike Casiano
i am using maverick .. and when i set proxy settings... Systems > Preference >
Network Proxy..
Set proxy to Manual proxy..
example Http proxy: 10.0.2.2  port : 80
   select Apply system wide to affect all... this will work already for USC..
it will write a line on /etc/apt/apt.conf
Acquire::http::Proxy "http://10.0.2.2:80";;
Acquire::ftp::Proxy "http://10.0.2.2:80";;
and so on

but problem is if you have authentication of username and password..
this will not work...because when you apply system wide... it will write still
Acquire::http::Proxy "http://10.0.2.2:80";;
Acquire::ftp::Proxy "http://10.0.2.2:80";;

with no username password..
this is a bug actually...

it should write
Acquire::http::Proxy "http://michael_c:mriddle12@10.0.2.2:80";;
Acquire::ftp::Proxy "http://michael_c:mriddle12@10.0.2.2:80";;

with michael_c as my username
and  mriddle12 as my password..

as a workaround, edit the line with this format..
Acquire::http::Proxy "http://username:password@10.0.2.2:80";;

and click save..and exit..
this will now work on apt-get and Ubuntu software center

I figured it out while searching and noticed it when i compare it with
my two desktop that one have this when i clicked system wide and the
other just for network proxy..

hope this will set changes in the next ubuntu release...

internal speakers..
the model=3stack seems to disable the pin for the speakers

anyway i have backup image my ubuntu , so whatever happens i can return it back
to the original settings..when i jam it up with all the tweeking..hehehe
but a bit upset with all my research to no avail .. im all exhausted a bit ..

[Bug 758432] Re: No sound on internal speakers but no problem with headset output

2011-04-29 Thread Mike Casiano
i have checked some site..
for my codec..

ALC260
==
  hpHP machines
  hp-3013   HP machines (3013-variant)
  hp-dc7600 HP DC7600
  fujitsu   Fujitsu S7020
  acer  Acer TravelMate
  will  Will laptops (PB V7900)
  replacer  Replacer 672V
  favorit100Maxdata Favorit 100XS
  basic fixed pin assignment (old default model)
  test for testing/debugging purpose, almost all controls can
adjusted. Appearing only when compiled with
$CONFIG_SND_DEBUG=y
  auto  auto-config reading BIOS (default)

i checked...
sudo nano /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base

and the model is  MODEL=3stack
which is configured to other codec..

i configured it to hp, hp-3013, and other and to no avail not working..
but it eliminated the fatal error at boot up...
sadly no sound still...
then i changed it to test.. but dont know how to compile it for alsa..
im not of a programmer in ubuntu though.. so having a hard time..

[Bug 758432] [NEW] No sound on internal speakers but no problem with headset output

2011-04-11 Thread Mike Casiano
Public bug reported:

I have a non-know laptop that have Intel chipset built-in sound card..My
unit is Blue Radon W310.. I guess not all of you are familiar with this
model... When I installed Ubuntu 10.10 maverick... I noticed that it
has no sound, but when i plug in my headset it has no
problem...eventhough I could still watch movies, and play music with my
headset on, it is not much of a big deal.. but I still want my Ubuntu to
run perfectly.. I still wish that i could watch movies without a
headset.. I have done all other research which some ubuntu users have
experience..no sound on internal speakers... I check the Sound settings,
disabled PUlseAudio on startup, which some say that it has conflict with
Alsa-driver.. but to no avail I have not yet solved it.. I kindda
uninstalled some alsa drivers.. that aplay is not anymore working.. will
post my hardware specs that terminal have shown.. a help will be much
appreciated..

** Affects: alsa-driver (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
