If I use Classic-Menu or Advanced MATE menu instead of Brisk.
Steam appears in Games section correctly. So this looks specific to just

[Bug 1871839] [NEW] Steam not listed under Games but Internet instead

2020-04-09 Thread Mike Glover
Public bug reported:

On a fresh install of Ubuntu Mate 20.04 (Daily build 9 April 2020)

To reproduce problem:
Have the default Brisk-menu in a panel. (Default setup)
Use Software Boutique to install Steam.
Go to Brisk Menu and Steam is under Internet Menu not Games.
Signed into Steam successfully.

Expected outcome:

Steam to appear under the Games menu as well as Internet.

Tried logging out and back in again after install of Steam, same issue exists.

[Bug 1860980] Re: Cannot set-up shared folder in 20.04

2020-04-07 Thread Mike Glover
Can confirm on clean install of Ubuntu MATE daily 2020-04-07.
Believe typo in orginial bug desciption. Should be sudo smbpasswd -a
in order for command to work.
Only until sudo apt install samba does the issue resolve.
Should caja-share package not require samba?

2020-03-25 Thread Mike Glover
Not found anymore .crash files.

But I have found a workaround.

To reproduce the fix:

- Boot up the xubuntu machine in QuickEMU (Martin Wimpress QEMU script)

- Get to the login screen

- Change the session from Xubuntu to Xfce

- Type in password and Enter and the desktop appears as normal.

If Xubuntu session is selected I get the black screen.

[Bug 1868780] [NEW] Xubuntu 20.04 - Blank screen after login

2020-03-24 Thread Mike Glover
Public bug reported:

Both on Xubuntu 20.04 23rd March and 24th March daily build.
Using Martin Wimpress QuickEMU setup.
Installation part of xubuntu is working fine.
But after install and reboot, you get the login box. I type in the password for
the user and then just get a black screen and mouse cursor, no other error
boxes or gui.
Have tested my QuickEMU setup on ubuntu-mate and do not see this issue, only on
Xubuntu daily builds do I see this issue.
