[Bug 264152] [NEW] broken and missing magic for file command
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: file ubuntu 8.04 file 4.21-3ubuntu1 The file command reports all OpenDocument files as data, and file -i reports them as application/x-zip. I re-installed the package, but the problems were still there. Fixes: 1.. file command not recognising OpenDocument files The /usr/share/file/magic file is broken by the WINZIP entry at line 1704. If you move this entry up 5 lines it works ok. 2.. file -i classifies all OpenDocument files as application/x-zip There is no magic in /usr/share/file/magic.mime for recognising OpenDocument applications. Attached is magic from my /etc/magic.mime file. It works ok for OpenOffice documents, and is consistent with the magic file for Koffice, Staroffice etc. so it should work for them too (I don't have any sample files to try). This magic could be added to /usr/share/file/magic.mime (replacing the line for PK/003/004 zip files). ** Affects: file (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- broken and missing magic for file command https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/264152 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
