[Bug 1516531] Re: Fullscreen Freeze.

2016-02-08 Thread Miklos Juhasz
Vindicator, I can reproduce it on my desktop (SandyBridge CPU, Asus
P8Z68-V PRO GEN3) and on a laptop (Haswell) as well. To me it looks like
it's Mesa related. The related Chrome bug report (with my comment):

[Bug 1322925] Re: [SRU] Copy, paste stops working randomly in Ubuntu 14.04 nautilus

2015-01-08 Thread Miklos Juhasz
** Description changed:

  [Impact]

Since upgrade to 14.04, copy / cut / paste of files among various
folders I have write rights on does not work most of the times.

  [Test Case]

- 1. Open a Nautilus window.
+ 1. Open a Nautilus window and switch to List view
  2. Go to location with write permission
  3. Select a file and try to rename.
  4. When prompted to rename (filename becomes a text entry), open new tab.
  5. Select a file, try to copy and paste. You will see that file is not copied
and pasted.
  6. Go back to original tab. If the file that was selected in step 3 is still
selected, unselect it.
  7. Try to copy and paste. It should work.
  8. Try to rename again, and open new tab.
  9. Close old tab, and try to copy and paste. It won't work, and there is no
way to restore, except opening a new window.

  [Regression Potential]

  Already fixed upstream with

https://git.gnome.org/browse/nautilus/commit/?id=8032628adc9c8286050716d609c574dc7273dfcb

Despite the Fix Released status I can confirm that this bug is not fixed
in Ubuntu 14.04, most probably because vte 0.35 implements this feature

[Bug 1242339] Re: window-stack-bridge crashed with SIGSEGV in data()

2013-10-30 Thread Miklos Juhasz
I don't experience this crash with the proposed package anymore.
HUD does crash though but that's LP bug #1239360 : hud-service crashed with
signal 5 in _start()
I am marking this bug is verification done since I think this one is fixed (but
there is another one causing hud crash after login).

[Bug 982889] Re: X trying to start before plymouth has finished using the drm driver

2013-05-26 Thread Miklos Juhasz
After all the proposed packages work fine here.
I've installed them on 2 laptops and a desktop (all suffering from this issue )
and been using them for a week. I started up these hosts several times a day
and for the sake of testing I also rebooted them a couple of times every day
and each time lightdm started as expected.
I also installed the packages on 2 other laptops (not suffering from this bug)
and I did not spot any regression.

[Bug 1181454] Re: empathy-accounts crashes on launch

2013-05-22 Thread Miklos Juhasz
This is caused by Google adding support for the URL vCard
field, which telepathy-gabble doesn't think is supported or exists.

I attached the links to the freedesktop and debian bug.

This is fixed in telepathy itself by this commit:
http://cgit.collabora.com/git/user/xclaesse/telepathy-
gabble.git/commit/?id=57e62a7871be3209fca3046aaf99cdd055fef59d

[Bug 1013446] Re: Uncached grp and pwd calls make duplicity slow with large group and passwd maps

[Bug 933776] Re: [regression] scale/spread: Initiate Window Picker for All Windows does not show all windows. It shows only windows from curent workspace.

2012-12-13 Thread Miklos Juhasz
It's likely that this bug would already have been fixed if there was a
ticket tracking the flying issue rather than having it discussed in
the middle for the 170 comments on the scale behaviour bug...

[Bug 1024168] Re: dconf-editor not reflecting set entries.

2012-11-19 Thread Miklos Juhasz
gsettings shows the correct values since it takes overrides into
account. Only dconf is affected.

As you can see in the linked gnome bugzilla entry this bug has already
been fixed in the upstream dconf code.

In case someone needs it I made a patch for the Precise (12.04) version of
dconf. The package built with it is in my ppa:

[Bug 1024168] Re: dconf-editor not reflecting set entries.

2012-07-28 Thread Miklos Juhasz
This bug occurs with keys overriden in the
/usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/ubuntu-artwork.gschema.override file from the
ubuntu-artwork package.
gsetting returns the correct value (e.g. gsettings get
org.gnome.desktop.interface font-name return Ubuntu 11 instead of Cantarell
11 displayed in the dconf-editor) so the value stored in dconf is correct.
It's just dconf-editor that does not pick up the overriden keys.

Using Timo's ppa Super+W for spreading all windows works fine here.

2012-07-12 Thread Miklos Juhasz
One thing I forgot to double check: Super+W is for spreading all windows
in _all_ workspaces but the Unity shortcut hints overlay shows
Spreading all windows in the _current_ workspace which is Shift+Alt+Up
actually.

test5 packages resolve this bug. No more crashes with IntelliJ popups.
Great job!

[Bug 932274] Re: Regression: Unreadable menu bar with Ambiance theme in Java/Swing GTK LF

2012-07-11 Thread Miklos Juhasz
Yes, there are several issues with the Java Swing GtkTheme:

- menu bar picking up wrong colors
- dropdown menus and context menus have no border
- dropdown menus and context menus are missing dropdown-shadow
- menu separators are missing

In an ideal world this would be fixed in the JDK... but as a Java
developer I can only fix my app to make it look decent in Ubuntu 12.04
by

- setting the menu color explicitly if under Gtk Ambiance theme
- using heavy-weight popups so that they have border and dropdown-shadow
- explicitly setting the y thickness so that menu separators show up

All these workarounds can be examined e.g. in this source:
https://github.com/mjuhasz/BDSup2Sub/blob/2180016ff01de9c0a056f743387b90c2de11b2d4/src/main/java/bdsup2sub/gui/support/GuiUtils.java

[Bug 929989] Re: compiz (decor) - Warn: failed to bind pixmap to texture

2012-07-10 Thread Miklos Juhasz
On the pending-sru page all bug links are green related to version
0.9.7.8-0ubuntu1.1. Will the package in -proposed be pushed into
-updates with the regression I reported (LP: #1019337)? The window
decorator is confirmed to crash with IntelliJ and PhpStorm as well and
probably all JetBrains products since they share the same codebase.
These are IDEs used in corporate environments where stability is a major
concern.

having a stacktrace of the segfault by running gtk-window-decorator --sync
 would be useful
