[Bug 1290035] Re: error messages appear while system loading following routine updates for the system

2014-03-13 Thread Mosh Aharoni
** Description changed:

Got 2 error messages while system 13.10 loading after power on. Last
  power followed a system update.
+
+ I updated the system with the automatic updater - I dont remember - just some
system updates. After that, I turned off the pc for the day. Next morning, when
I turned on the pc, while loading the system (after boot sequence) I got a
black screen with a small gray square in the upper left corner sayung there is
some error, and that I can click report or abort(or cancel or ignore -
something like that). When I pressed report there appeard another similar
window. I pressed report again and the system froze with a black screen.
+ Had to reboot again, getting the same message, but this time after pressing
report the system loaded in a normal manner. I did get an error report box
saying the problem was with Release-Upgrader-core.
+ So I sent the error.
+
+ I probably should add that lately I've been having major slowdowns
+ followed by freezes again. Mainly while using graphic apps, such as GIMP
+ (which after a minute slows down everything to a halt that needs a hard
+ reboot or a TTY restart Lightdm) or playing movies.
+
+ Don't know if there is a connection between the phenomenons
+

Well, the bug still exsits even in the Kernel latest v3.12
this tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Where and how should I tag this?
I am removing this upstream kernel now.

Thanks!

Reviewing the files from your upgrade attempt you seem to have enabled
the xorg-edgers-ppa. This will prevent the upgrade as that PPA contains
different versions of packages essential to Ubuntu. The page,
 https://launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/+archive/ppa, contains details on to
how to revert to the official Xorg packages.

Well I just started an online upgrade from Ubuntu 13.04 to 13.10 -

[Bug 1244568] Re: Upgrade from 13.04 to 13.10 faild due to unknown bug - possibly a core problem

2013-10-26 Thread Mosh Aharoni
Well I followed your instructions and still couldn't revert to the
official Xorg packages as they instructed. I sent the Admin Team an
email explaining as well.

Maybe you can help me on this one...

[Bug 1244568] [NEW] Upgrade from 13.04 to 13.10 faild due to unknown bug - possibly a core problem

2013-10-25 Thread Mosh Aharoni
Public bug reported:

Well I just started an online upgrade from Ubuntu 13.04 to 13.10 - just
like all the other times.

However this time the upgrade process was terminated after retreving the
system files for upgrade (right after stage 2 of upgrade list).

It gave me an error report and told me to report an error on the
ubuntu-release-upgrader-core part of the installation.

Hope you can come up with a solution.

Thanks!!!

Mosh

[Bug 1244575] [NEW] Xorg freeze randomly since Ubuntu 12.04 till 13.04

2013-10-25 Thread Mosh Aharoni
Public bug reported:

Ok I've reported this bug before but without uploading info.

System has been freezing randomly for a year now or more. Since I first
upgraded from 11.10 to 12.04.
Random freezes, sometimes with lockedup screen, keyboard and mouse snd sometimes
just screen and keyboard. I can sometimes enter the tty terminals, and reboot
from there.

It also happend when I tried to use Fedora 17 - very strange

Happens a few times a day, and cannot be produced by will.

Hope the info below can help understand my starting point
