It seems Firefox implemented passkeys for Windows and MacOS but lack support for Linux as shown in https://www.passkeys.io/compatible-devices I don't quite understand what is so platform specific. Of course, integration in the native platform password manager is nice but not mandatory. Firefox already stores its passwords and can sync them with Firefox Sync. What's so different with passkeys and what's the status of this feature? This bug is 14 years old. As I recall, this margin depends on the print.print_margin_* settings which can be set from about:config in Firefox. I long ago fixed this problem in my local copies of Firefox, but it may be that the default settings from Mozilla still aren't proper. I have all these four settings at 0.5 and have no problem anymore with printing margins. As an addenda (and because the current downloadable version is still 78.*) I have to mention THE real problem with this bug. If Thunderbird is used long enough to accumulate 1 temporary files in the TEMP directory, so it has all the files from nsemail.eml to nsemail-.eml, Thunderbird will suddenly stop sending e-mails with an error. It can be solved by simply deleting the files. The system was a Windows 7 SP1 64bit with now latest TB 78.8.0. No idea. There's two ways to get to a locale through the chrome reg: - requested languages has that before en-US - there's no en-US chrome package registered for `messenger` How either of those two could happen for just a time-window on startup . no idea. I also don't think that anything changed there recently. To say something constructive, caching the folder names could be the actual problem. I'd suggest to invalidate that caching on intl:app- locales-changed, https://firefox-source- docs.mozilla.org/intl/locale.html#events. Not sure if there's a smooth way to make sure the UI updates. landed so my memory may be a bit rusty, but I don't believe we
considered the use case of Linux distributions side-loading dictionaries
in this way...
Would it be a useful work-around to convert these dictionaries to the
[WebExtension dictionary format](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-
US/docs/Mozilla/Add-ons/WebExtensions/manifest.json/dictionaries)? I
haven't tested this myself, but at least in Firefox it is [possible to
side-load
extensions](https://extensionworkshop.com/documentation/publish
/distribute-sideloading/#standard-extension-folders), so perhaps
installing such extensions to a location like
`/usr/lib/thunderbird/extensions/{uuid}` may be a useful workaround?

We have the `mozilla::SpinEventLoopUntil()` helper function for dealing with these nested event loops, with many examples around the code base.
