2019-09-16 Thread Murz
Seems fixed, `GTK_USE_PORTAL=1 thunderbird` goes to work well on Ubuntu 19.04
with `thunderbird-mozilla-build_68.0-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb`!
With `thunderbird-mozilla-build_60.8.0-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb` now there are no
crash, but dialog is still GTK.
Can any of other subscribers confirm, that this is fixed too?

I already try to use those extensions, especially KDE Wallet password
integration but it works bad: it broke password sync feature and produce
browser crashes, and author don't know how to fix this. So native support for
password managers will be much better.
At now I remove master password and forced to store Firefox passwords unsecured

[Bug 1288182]

2018-08-27 Thread Murz
Same problem reproduced with displaying PDF form in fresh Firefox and
Chrome web browsers, that use JS rendering. So the problem is in PDF
document - PDF document don't embed non-cyrillic font letters in PDF
file. For this cases is better to display symbols via some default font,
instead of missing letters.

So can we add workaround for "warning: layoutText: cannot convert
U+65E5" - replace font for this symbol to system default?

[Bug 1786091] [NEW] Decrease default grub timeout from 10 to 3 secs or disable it

2018-08-08 Thread Murz
Public bug reported:

At now Ubuntu have default grub timeout as 10 seconds:
GRUB_TIMEOUT=10
And provide no ways to easy remove or change this timeout to lower value via
GUI.

So now each Ubuntu user at each boot must wait 10 seconds or press keys
for increase boot. And only improved users know how to change it via
editing /etc/default/grub file.

10 seconds is too long for regular users, because most of time users use
default value, and change to other boot items very rarely.

Disabling timeout to zero is too brave step, so maybe we decrease this
time to 3 seconds?

[Bug 1778082] [NEW] Language Support Is Incomplete dialog must show package list to install

2018-06-21 Thread Murz
Public bug reported:

When Ubuntu have missing language packages, it shows in tray System
Notification Helper message with text "Language support is incomplete,
additional packages are required".

But when user do one simple mouse click on this notification - Ubuntu
immediately asks user password with "Authentication Required" popup
window, without describing what is planned to do, which packages are
missing and will be installed.

After typing password - user will not see any useful info too - only
small window with unnamed progress bar and standard text phrases.

After process finished - there are also zero useful info, only that
process is finished.

Please show more information about this process, before ask user password!

Very useful info will be:

- How this missed packages are detected?

- Why those packages are missed?

- What packages will planned to install/upgrade (package names,
versions)?

- Total size of planned downloads.

[Bug 1641844] [NEW] Please provide Firefox Beta and Dev PPA with separate package for install on Ubuntu Linux together with stable firefox package

2016-11-14 Thread Murz
Public bug reported:

Many users want to have stable and beta/alpha version of Firefox
together on system, for compare and test features. In windows there are
easy, but in Linux - not easy.

Here if official Mozilla PPA for beta versions:
Official PPA for Firefox Beta
https://launchpad.net/~mozillateam/+archive/ubuntu/firefox-next
Official PPA for Thunderbird Beta
https://launchpad.net/~mozillateam/+archive/ubuntu/thunderbird-next

But packages in all this PPA replaces current stable version of Firefox
in system, so users can't run at same time two versions of Firefox.

Compiling Firefox from sources is too hard way for most of users - нere
is example of long instructions how to do this manually:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/548003/how-do-i-install-the-firefox-
developer-edition

And here is good example for trunk version https://launchpad.net
/~ubuntu-mozilla-daily/+archive/ubuntu/ppa - I can install it separately
via easy way, without touching current system stable firefox.

Can you provide same separate package for firefox beta versions, named
like firefox-beta, that install Firefox beta together with system
Firefox package, with separate config folder, without touching system
default firefox?

And will be good to see same PPA with separate Firefox deveopment
version (firefox-dev) package and alpha versions.

This will be very useful for many users! Thanks.

Maybe we can extend it via auto move focus to any new LibreOffice window

[Bug 1369424] Re: LibreOffice windows and dialogs do not receive focus on startup (KDE, Razorqt)

2014-12-08 Thread Murz
Maybe we can create workaround for libreoffice dialog windows that lost
focus in KDE when showing via KWin Window Rules?

I have found how to detect libreoffice dialog windows:
Window class: Substring Match - libreoffice
Window types: Dialogue Window
Screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/w7NPSjm.png

And setup in Appearance Fixes:

Focus stealing prevention: Force - None
Screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/XqXrPr0.png

but this is not work as described here:
https://userbase.kde.org/KWin_Rules_Examples#Force_a_Window_to_the_Top

Maybe some other options must me changed? Can anybody describe why this
option not work?

And I can't change width of this column via increasing window size or

Installing package with ignore dependencies solves the problem for me:
$ dpkg -i --ignore-depends=kde-window-manager ./kde-style-skulpture.deb
After this theme works well on all applications.

So this is issue with packaging, not with theme source.

Ubuntu Linux have feature for user home folder encryption, it works with
password that user enter on login, this is done via pam_ecryptfs.so

kwallet can reuse this method for opening kwallet via user password?

[Bug 217300]

2013-01-16 Thread Murz
(In reply to Matej Cepl from comment #69)
(In reply to Murz from comment #63)
So most of users stores Firefox passwords non-secured like as plain text,
  this is large security hole!

No, it doesn't ... Firefox native password store is of course heavily
encrypted (although with only optional password, true).

How Firefox can heavily encrypt them if user set empty password? As I
see, most of users don't want to enter additional password on each open
browser, and also many users even don't know about this feature (because
Firefox don't suggest to encrypt passwords on install or first start).

So in most of Firefox installs passwords are not encrypted, and any
other user can view it (for example via PasswordFox application).

In Google Chrome passwords are encrypted by default in windows via user
password (Chrome uses a Windows provided API function which makes the
encrypted data only decipherable by the Windows user account used to
encrypt the password. So essentially, your master password is your
Windows account password), on Gnome - stored in Keyring, on KDE - in
KWallet, so user must not enter password on browser start and passwords
are stored in encrypted format.

Will be glad to see something solution like in Chrome for password
encryption by-default in Firefox.

Expiring same problem too. For KDE environment this issue can be fixed
via extension https://addons.mozilla.org/ru/firefox/addon/kde-wallet-
password-integratio/ but there are no easy-to-install way for Gnome.

So most of users stores Firefox passwords non-secured like as plain

Using master password is not good solution, because users will must
enter it after each restart firefox.

Google Chrome have build-in support for Gnome Keyring and KDE Wallet, so
will be good if Firefox can have this support too!

[Bug 934448] [NEW] Missed KSecretService in KDE wallet 4.8

2012-02-17 Thread Murz
Public bug reported:

Kubuntu 12.04 have KDE 4.8, that have new KWallet interface - KSecretService
-quote:
---
KSecretService is a new framework for sharing saved passwords and other
credentials between a wider range of applications. KSecretService uses KDE's
well-known interfaces through a Freedesktop-compliant API with other password
systems, transparently for the user. KSecretService improves integration of KDE
applications into other workspaces and allows 3rd party applications to plug
into KDE's secure password saving system.
---
In KDE Wallet Settings 4.8 must be the checkbox for using new system, here is
screenshot:
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-xdcbc2msTgI/TpSymJIt0mI/A4w/jes_4HntNvY/2011%2B10%2B11%2Bksecretsservice.png

Also in Account details must be item KDE Secret Sync, looks like:
http://www.kde.org/announcements/4.8/screenshots/thumbs/ksecretservice-
sync.png

But I didn't see both features in Kubuntu 12.04 interface. Why? How I can
enable KDE Secret Service? Maybe I need to install some additional package for
this? Seems package name must be ksecrets or ksecretservice.
WIll this package be packaged to Ubuntu?

I solve this problem for me via editing dbus rules: in file

I use pulseaudio as system daemon, so maybe you must add not pulse but your

qapt-batch and muon have no hard dependency on polkit-kde-1, so if user
