[Bug 1573454] Re: Mouse pointer disappear after suspend in Xubuntu 16.04
I have a similar issue on xubuntu 16.04 whenever I lock the screen or suspend the monitor. When I log back in the mouse cursor is missing. However, when I hit alt-tab to switch applications, the mouse reappears! I am not sure why this works, but it does for me. Can anyone else confirm if this works for them? [Bug 898870] Re: Grid placed window overlaps the adjacent viewport
I noticed that the degree to which the overlap is present on the next workspace is based on the width of the window borders listed in the user's theme. I edited the metacity-theme-1.xml file for my theme to resolve this problem. Simply go to the section of the file listing frame_geometry name=frame_geometry_normal ... and underneath that, set left_width and right_width to 0 (set bottom_height to zero for visual consistency). This gets rid of the overhang, but I think the shadow is still present in the adjacent workspace. [Bug 905128] [NEW] Unity 3D test failed when attaching external monitor
Public bug reported: Installed Oneiric Ocelot on an Alpha 32 bit laptop with 16gB memory, Omega 3D Video controller, 4gB Video memory and Omicron screen display with a 640 X 480 native display resolution. Display during installation and post- installation operations went OK. Monitor preferences were adjustable. Then started the system tests. Connected an Epsilon external monitor to the VGA port of the laptop. This resulted in a broken display, which is shown in the attachment problem1.png I could access the 'Monitor Preferences' application to perhaps try different display settings. Power cycled the laptop. The problem persisted. Disconnected the external monitor and power cycled the laptop. The operations were normal in the single monitor mode. Connected the Epsilon monitor to a Zeta 32bit desktop, running Oneiric Ocelot, with Video controller and memory similar to the laptop. The display was OK. No problems were seen with Unity 2D or Nattie Narwhal either. The external monitor could be connected OK. In addition to problem1.png, I have attached the following logs. syslog dmesg kern.log Xorg.0.log messages gconfd.log Note: 1. In the screen capture image, it may be noticed that the width of the offending wide, narrow and dark grey rectangle equals the width of the 'Monitor Preferences' application. [Bug 652915] [NEW] mutter restarts when closing Java application (Jin chess client)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: mutter The earlier unity related issue of mutter restarting while closing some applications has come back in a modified form. It seems to happen when closing some java programs. I can always reproduce it when closing my Jin chess client. I have attached a gdb trace of it. I have updated all programs about 4 hours before. This does not happen in gnome. There is also a difference. When in gnome, the menus of java programs and mouse pointer is aligned, but in unity interface, these java program menus does not correctly follow the mouse pointer, but rather about a cm difference vertically. -- mutter restarts when closing Java application (Jin chess client) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/652915 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 645724] Re: Ibus applet in unity does not allow selection of menu entries by mouse.
It was always the case with me if the daemon is automatically started. I had migrated from lucid, so to make sure that the problem is not with old account settings, I created a new account to check. The same problem is there also. Then I though of using strace to get some info. Strangely enough when I start strace ibus-daemon, it works fine. Then I tried ibus-daemon on the terminal without strace. It does not work then. If I try strace ibus-daemon -d, the strace info is not displayed after it goes to daemon mode. So i am at loss of what can be done to get to the problem. I can always reproduce it. But I am not sure how or why. If you have any ideas that I can try, I would be happy to try it out. thanks narayanan On Thu, Sep 23, 2010 at 12:06 PM, drizzle darran.kelin...@gmail.com wrote: Dear Narayanan N, Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. There are other similar problems. The top unity bar applets are not clickable immediately after login unless the ubuntu icon on the top left is clicked, selects the rightmost power button/ some other palace to change focus and then click it. This also happens sometimes during while we work. [Bug 632850] [NEW] Menu item selection does not follow mouse pointer
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: unity I am not sure if this is a bug of unity or not. but I cannot pin point it to a single package. It sometimes happen that when I select a menu and use the mouse pointer to select an item, I need to keep the pointer way below the item to get it selected. This makes it difficult to use (especially for the entries at the end of menu). This used to happen to even menus in the panel in earlier versions of unity. After some upgrade it is not so common in the panel. Where it consistently occur now is when I use the jabref package. There was one more application caused this, which I cannot recall now. sorry for the lack of information. If there are any suggestions to get more specific information, I would be glad to be of use.
