Did a build in our staging repository with the debdiff. Installed
happily on my HP EliteBook 840 G7 with 5.14.0-1024-oem. I will try and
find time to plug it in to one of the HP DisplayLink docks in due time.

Ehrm. I don't agree with editing the service file that comes from the
package and will get overwritten. Ensuring the correct order in the PAM
configuration is the correct fix here.

[Bug 1919379] Re: debconf module: does not execute postinst

Indeed. The debconf module only populate the debconf database, which you
can do before the package is installed. It's not the intent of the
debconf module to take any further actions.

[Bug 1889416] Re: pulseaudio.service: Start request repeated too quickly.

2020-07-29 Thread Nafallo Bjälevik
The previous version (1:13.99.1-1ubuntu3.4) has the same problem with
trying to create ~/.config/pulse before the home directory is available
(in this case decrypted). The theory at the moment is that the new patch
in 1:13.99.1-1ubuntu3.5 makes the code break earlier and therefor retry
faster.

We might want to make sure the service waits for ~/. to be available
before trying to create ~/.config/pulse, at least that's my initial
thinking.

[Bug 1768340] Re: fscrypt does not work for home directory encryption

2020-05-01 Thread Nafallo Bjälevik
Actually, I was using policy_version: 1 until I upgraded the fscrypt
package to be recent enough to include support for policy_version: 2.
Everything I've tried so far works fine with the new policies. That
includes refreshing snaps and mounting my home directory into a lxd
container.

Alright. The Ansible module is mostly using the python3-apt bindings
directly, so I would suggest debugging APT first rather than adding the
whole Ansible stack on top in your debugging :-).

I'll close the bug now then.

Just created a new focal container, apt update, apt upgrade, apt install
ansible. I copied your playbook, but without the shebang (not sure
what's that doing there?) and ran it.

It works fine. Perhaps you could try to remove the shebang (first line
being ---), and run it with ansible-playbook apt.yml directly? Let us
know how it goes.

Hi Ralf,

Could you try removing "update_cache: no", since cache_valid_time sets it to
yes explicitly.
Just a hunch this could be your apt cache not being up-to-date before you try

In addition the new package FTBFS on Focal until a newer golang-golang-x
-sys-dev have landed. The one currently sitting in focal-proposed works.
In addition, there is a new upstream release of fscrypt, 0.2.7, that
automatically configures v2 policies on new fscrypt setups on newer
kernels.

[Bug 1867426] [NEW] ~/snap and fscrypt

2020-03-14 Thread Nafallo Bjälevik
Public bug reported:

For `snap refresh` to work with an fscrypt encrypted home directory, we
need to set `"policy_version": "2"` under options in
`/etc/fscrypt.conf`, per https://github.com/google/fscrypt#cant-log-in-
with-ssh-even-when-users-encrypted-home-directory-is-unlocked

Since Focal will ship with Linux 5.4 we should change the default
generated config to avoid headaches later.

[Bug 1825948] Re: Unexpected failure in unarchive module

2019-04-23 Thread Nafallo Bjälevik
Well, if it got the expected input it probably would have. It didn't
expect a list there and it caused a traceback rather than an error in
this case. This is not completely uncommon for python scripts.

Well, `creates` should be used only when you want to skip a task.
Ansible is idempotent by nature, so if you unarchive an already
unarchived compressed file, it will not change the content on disk
unless the extracted data is actually different. Do you really need
`creates` in your case?

For reference:
https://docs.ansible.com/ansible/2.6/modules/unarchive_module.html

[Bug 1825948] Re: Unexpected failure in unarchive module

2019-04-23 Thread Nafallo Bjälevik
Hi,

`creates` is not likely to be a list, and I'm not sure what directory
the above would be relative to. Perhaps try using only one file, and an
absolute path and see if the traceback persists.

Cheers,
Nafallo

[Bug 1555562] Re: lastpass-cli changed bundled CA certificates

2018-05-18 Thread Nafallo Bjälevik
** Changed in: lastpass-cli (Ubuntu Bionic)
Assignee: (unassigned) => Nafallo Bjälevik (nafallo)

** Changed in: lastpass-cli (Ubuntu Bionic)
   Status: New => In Progress

** Description changed:

- When I try to login into my account using lastpass-cli (lpass login
- usern...@server.com), it respond with error:
+ [Impact]

- Error: Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with given CA
- certificates.
+ lastpass.com provisioned a new SSL certificate on their servers.
+ Their packaged client use their API via SSL, and pin which certificates are
allowed to sign their certificate.
+ Since the new certificate is signed by certificate not in the list, we need
to patch it in for the client to allow connections.

- Several day ago it worked.
+ The client in it's current state is useless and errors out with: "Error:
+ Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with given CA certificates."
+ for all operations working against the API, which is almost all of them.

- I found this ticket at their project site:
+ Upstream bug: https://github.com/lastpass/lastpass-cli/issues/409
+ Upstream fix:
https://github.com/lastpass/lastpass-cli/commit/b888411b042df9414d1d78d99332b672e65c4eb9

+ [Test Case]

- Unfortunately, github is unreachable from my place whole day. So I cannot
check this link or try to install app from sources.
- So, I'll try to describe issue as I remember it.
+ `lpass login t...@example.com` will cause an error: "Error: Peer
+ certificate cannot be authenticated with given CA certificates."

- As far as I can understand, developers of this tool changed approach to how
they use CA certificates in the app recently.
- Also they migrated to another certificate issuer, consequentially,
certificate changed on the lastpass.com site.
- But older version of app, which is contained in Ubuntu's repository uses more
old approach and bundled old certificate.
+ [Regression Potential]

- If I understand right, newer version should exchange with server and
- update certificate automatically, but this version is not in the
- Ubuntu's repo yet. If my assumption is right, than someone should update
- package in the repo.
+ The application is already unusable, but even if we consider a working
+ version we're only adding a couple of SSL certificates to the validation
+ list.

- ProblemType: Bug
- DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.10
- Package: lastpass-cli 0.5.0-1
- ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.2.0-30.36-generic 4.2.8-ckt3
- Uname: Linux 4.2.0-30-generic x86_64

- InstallationMedia: Lubuntu 15.10 "Wily Werewolf" - Release amd64 (20151021)
- SourcePackage: lastpass-cli
- UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install)
+ [Other info]
+
+ I would suggest we pocket copy lastpass-cli=1.0.0-1.2ubuntu2 from cosmic
+ to bionic-proposed.

[Bug 1766137] Re: [regression] Password accepted but login fails (blank purple screen and mouse pointer only)

2018-04-24 Thread Nafallo Bjälevik
Hi,

As discussed with duflu on irc, here are the steps I took to reproduce
and produce a log:

 1. Enable debug in /etc/gdm3/custom.conf
 2. Reboot
 3. From other laptop; ssh wendigo journalctl -f
 4. Intentially login with a faulty password first, which made GDM just prompt
as normal
 5. Login with the correct password, which caused the purple screen + mouse
 6. Copy the log up to this point
 7. Press a bunch of ctrl+alt+fn+f-key combos until I got back to login screen
 8. Login as normal, ctrl+c the SSH session and scp the file.

[Bug 1116791] [NEW] xterm and gnome-terminal should not be dependencies

2013-02-05 Thread Nafallo Bjälevik
Public bug reported:

 Hi,

ubuntu-desktop depends on xterm and gnome-terminal. xorg is a dependency
as well, and in turn depends on xterm | x-terminal-emulator. Something
is wrong here. I'd say either removing the depends on the terminal
emulators from ubuntu-desktop or, in case of xorg getting replaced at
some point, depend on xterm | x-terminal-emulator here too...

Best wishes, Nafallo
