[Bug 1265570] Re: nvidia-331 update installs bumblebee [xorg-edgers]

2014-03-28 Thread Nanodesu
Optimus users can install nvidia prime:

$ apt-cache show nvidia-331 | grep prime
Recommends: nvidia-settings (= 331.20), nvidia-prime (= 0.5) | bumblebee,
libcuda1-331, nvidia-libopencl1-331, nvidia-opencl-icd-331

But saucy/updates has old one:
$ dpkg -l nvidia-prime
...
ii  nvidia-prime
0.4.2~ubuntu13.10.1   all   Tools to
enable NVIDIA's Prime

[Bug 839297] Re: [W90VP, Realtek ALC1200, Speaker, Internal] No sound at all

2011-10-27 Thread Nanodesu
According to Takeshi Iwai, fix will be merged with mainline near 3.2-rc.
W90 owners may compile kernel from here git://github.com/tiwai/sound.git
options snd-hda-intel model=auto also required.

[Bug 688174] Re: [Realtek ALC1200] No sound at all. Ubuntu 10.10x64.Works fine on dual boot windows 7

2011-09-21 Thread Nanodesu
Confirmed this in many distribution with a modern kernel. This is not ubuntu,
but alsa problem.
It seems to be broken between 2.6.34.10 and 2.6.35.13 (diff is attached)
You can fix this by reversing attached patch and recompiling the kernel.

** Patch added: Codec-related changes

2011-09-21 Thread Nanodesu
Problem seems to be same as
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/688174
I don't know why that codec workaround was removed from alsa sources.
