[Bug 1859417] Re: PXE installation of Ubuntu-18.04.03 stuck at 66%

2020-03-30 Thread Naresh Bhat
We have tried with normal SATA HDD with different schenario's,
1. We are able to reproduce the issue when there are multiple OSes present on
other HDD
2. We have tried with only one HDD (i.e. no other OSes installed on whole
system). We are still able to reproduce the issue.

The issue is also reported by Linaro guys where they tried to install
Ubuntu 18.04 on ThunderX2 Saber hardware.

We will try to get more logs.

We are still able to reproduce the issue with latest AMI BIOS FW with
the version "BIOS Date: 09/09/2019 16:06:39 Ver: 0ACKL028". The logs
attached in the previous comment are useful ?

[Bug 1862559] Re: ubuntu 19.10: unresponsive/freezes on ThunderX2 if system is idle for ~22min

2020-02-18 Thread Naresh Bhat
Thank you very much. Attached the dmesg log collected from the system.
May be it gives some hints on the freeze behavior. BTW it looks like we
are using a different BIOS version TX2-FW-Release-7.4-build_05 from the
logs. I will confirm the equivalent AMI BIOS version. If they are not
using the AMI BIOS. I will ask our developers to check with AMI BIOS
version. Thank you very much for the investigations.

[Bug 1862559] [NEW] ubuntu 19.10: unresponsive/freezes on ThunderX2 if system is idle for ~22min

2020-02-09 Thread Naresh Bhat
Public bug reported:

UBUNTU 19.10 installed on ThunderX2 saber ARM64 machine. If the system
left idle for ~22min it becomes unresponsive. The system will not take
any inputs like from UART, ping ..etc. The system will completely
freeze and we need to hard reset the system. It could be possible the
system goes to hibernate state and could not able to come out of the
state.

[Bug 1859417] [NEW] PXE installation of Ubuntu-18.04.03 stuck at 66%

2020-01-13 Thread Naresh Bhat
Public bug reported:

We are trying to have a PXE install of latest Ubuntu-18.04.03 on ThunderX2
server. The installation is getting stuck while running the grub_update at
66%. We have tried to install the OS by the following methods,
 1. Use complete sda/nvme disk with Manual guided partition
 2. Use complete sda/nvme disk with automatic partition
We do have other OSes on different disks. But we are still facing the same
issue the grub_update is getting stuck at 66% in the both above cases #1, #2
We have also tried on different machines and not able to overcome from the
grub_update stuck issue.

[Bug 32002] Re: No way to manage ignore list

2017-08-31 Thread Naresh Kamboju
The only way to remove people from the ignore list is
1. Close Xchat GUI (kill this process)
2. Delete  ~/.xchat2/ignore.conf
3. Start Xchat-Gnome IRC Chat

Is it something related to user UID?

[Bug 318797] [NEW] window goes away when i click the minimize button

2009-01-19 Thread Naresh
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu version 8.04 Hardy
The Maximize and Close buttons on every window works, but the minimize does not.
I notice this problem about 2 weeks ago.
When I click the minimize button the window goes away. I'm not sure if the
application is closed or still running because the more windows I minimize, the
slower the computer gets.
Once when I tried restarting and those windows which i minimized(the ones that
had vanished) were revealed, this only happened once.

+
+ Update
+ The applications are still running somewhere out of sight.
+ I found a program in synaptic call gPS, it shows me the programs that are
running.
+ When I open a program like Texteditor and refresh gPS it show it, when I
close Texteditor and refresh gPS it goes away from the list in gPS.
+ When I minimize the window vanishes but gPS still show it running.

[Bug 201709] Re: [needs-packaging] Kdpkg

2008-03-13 Thread Naresh V
kdpkg is a frontend for dpkg. It helps you to install debian packages.
It's similar to gdebi-kde but it has some advantages/differences:

* it's faster
* the installer function works
* it can handle conflicts
* no python dependencies
