[Bug 1859417] Re: PXE installation of Ubuntu-18.04.03 stuck at 66%
We have tried with normal SATA HDD with different schenario's, 1. We are able to reproduce the issue when there are multiple OSes present on other HDD 2. We have tried with only one HDD (i.e. no other OSes installed on whole system). We are still able to reproduce the issue. The issue is also reported by Linaro guys where they tried to install Ubuntu 18.04 on ThunderX2 Saber hardware. We will try to get more logs. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1859417 Title: PXE installation of Ubuntu-18.04.03 stuck at 66% To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/os-prober/+bug/1859417/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1862559] Re: ubuntu 19.10: unresponsive/freezes on ThunderX2 if system is idle for ~22min
We are still able to reproduce the issue with latest AMI BIOS FW with the version "BIOS Date: 09/09/2019 16:06:39 Ver: 0ACKL028". [Bug 1862559] Re: ubuntu 19.10: unresponsive/freezes on ThunderX2 if system is idle for ~22min
Thank you very much. Attached the dmesg log collected from the system. May be it gives some hints on the freeze behavior. BTW it looks like we are using a different BIOS version TX2-FW-Release-7.4-build_05 from the logs. I will confirm the equivalent AMI BIOS version. If they are not using the AMI BIOS. I will ask our developers to check with AMI BIOS version. Thank you very much for the investigations. ** Attachment added: "dmesg logs" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1862559/+attachment/5329343/+files/ubuntu_19.10_freeze.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1862559 Title: ubuntu 19.10: unresponsive/freezes on ThunderX2 if system is idle for ~22min To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1862559/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1862559] [NEW] ubuntu 19.10: unresponsive/freezes on ThunderX2 if system is idle for ~22min
Public bug reported: UBUNTU 19.10 installed on ThunderX2 saber ARM64 machine. If the system left idle for ~22min it becomes unresponsive. The system will not take any inputs like from UART, ping ..etc. The system will completely freeze and we need to hard reset the system. It could be possible the system goes to hibernate state and could not able to come out of the state. Public bug reported: We are trying to have a PXE install of latest Ubuntu-18.04.03 on ThunderX2 server. The installation is getting stuck while running the grub_update at 66%. We have tried to install the OS by the following methods, 1. Use complete sda/nvme disk with Manual guided partition 2. Use complete sda/nvme disk with automatic partition We do have other OSes on different disks. But we are still facing the same issue the grub_update is getting stuck at 66% in the both above cases #1, #2 We have also tried on different machines and not able to overcome from the grub_update stuck issue. ** Affects: os-prober (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "update grub screen shot" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1859417/+attachment/5319740/+files/image001.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1859417 Title: PXE installation of Ubuntu-18.04.03 stuck at 66% To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/os-prober/+bug/1859417/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
