[Bug 1204906] [NEW] NetBeans, VisualVM, etc. broken with latest security release for 12.04
Public bug reported: The latest security update of OpenJDK 6 appears to have broken NetBeans and other NetBeans platform based applications such as VisualVM. It may break many other Swing applications - not tested. Manifests as UI issues, NPE's and lockups (eg. find usages dialog hangs NetBeans). One stack trace shows EventQueue.isDispatchThread() returning false from within the dispatch thread. All is fine in current OpenJDK 7. Looking at NetBeans on OpenJDK 6 from VisualVM (running on 7!) shows multiple AWT event queues and sometimes deadlock between them. Same result is not seen when running NetBeans with OpenJDK 7. Running on 12.04 with OpenJDK-6-JRE 6b27-1.12.6-1ubuntu0.12.04.2 ** Affects: openjdk-6 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1204906 Title: NetBeans, VisualVM, etc. broken with latest security release for 12.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openjdk-6/+bug/1204906/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1002798] Re: Ubuntu 12.04 hangs on shutdown
Screenshot of kernel panic message when this happens. As mentioned, I'm now using the low-latency kernel, and have threadirqs set. It may be coincidence, but this error now hardly ever happens on mains power. Reproducible consistently on battery though. ** Attachment added: "IMG_20120628_133447.jpg" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1002798/+attachment/3206651/+files/IMG_20120628_133447.jpg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1002798 Title: Ubuntu 12.04 hangs on shutdown To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1002798/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 987933] Re: 10de:0407 Ubuntu 12.04 shutdown hangs with proprietary nVidia driver
I marked this as affecting me a while back, and subscribed. However, my setup, as a couple of others, is an AMD radeon card with the propietary driver. Same result. I see this bug has been marked nvidia only. If this is a deliberate decision to look at the bugs separately then I'll unsubscribe. However, this does seems to affect a lot of Dell users, like me. Could this be a Dell issue or an issue with proprietary graphics drivers and the kernel, rather than specific to nvidia? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/987933 Title: 10de:0407 Ubuntu 12.04 shutdown hangs with proprietary nVidia driver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers/+bug/987933/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 966986] Re: ALT +Tab 'show desktop' doesn't work always
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 91784 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/91784 I disagree with the duplicate status. The icon in Alt-TAB should never have been a duplicate of the toggle desktop action in the first place. No other icon in Alt-TAB toggles eg. if I repeatedly move to FireFox it doesn't toggle its minimised state. This icon should just minimize all windows - full stop. It's needlessly confusing for new users, and plain annoying for the rest of us. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/966986 Title: ALT +Tab 'show desktop' doesn't work always To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/966986/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1002798] Re: Ubuntu 12.04 hangs on shutdown
Extra info - * System is a Dell Studio 1558 laptop. * I'm using low-latency but get same behaviour with generic kernel. * Only seems to happen when using fglrx. Open-source radeon driver hasn't triggered though has other issues for me. * Seems far more likely to happen when on battery power than mains. * Have switched off splash. When this bug happens there is a kernel oops and mention of DBus and flgrx. [Bug 991977] Re: Ubuntu 12.04 hangs on shutdown
Also experiencing this on a Dell Studio 1558 with AMD RV710 series graphics card and proprietary drivers. I wonder if there's something ACPI related - I'm getting this problem rarely when plugged in, but almost always when on battery power. Doesn't seem to be a problem with radeon open-source driver, but that has its own issues (constant fan, low battery life, etc.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/991977 Title: Ubuntu 12.04 hangs on shutdown To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/991977/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
