[Bug 263477] Re: new windows in full screen
ok, I hate to do this, but I am going to expand on this bug, and perhaps eradicate it with a new feature? I have been playing around with writer and calc on my system (Ubuntu 8.04 64bit, running OO 2.4) there is definately an issue with toolbars and full screen. It is indeed possible to get yourself into deep water. Example - in writer, open a text document, click on View/Full screen and hey presto, you get full screen, with a toolbar that returns you to sanity at any time. That toolbar can however be hidden, and then it is far from intuitive to get back to normality. In Gnome, all users panels are gone, and the entire desktop is your document. My only escape was to ctrl-alt-right into another desktop. I would recommend that the OO devs add a few of the View menu items to the menu that appears whenever right clicking within the document. Perhaps only a return to default view option would suffice?? ** Changed in: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- new windows in full screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/263477 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Cushie wrote: Thanks Adam, I deleted the rt2500 files from Synaptic but the rt2500usb is still loaded when I plug the USB in, how do I completely remove them from the system, if that is necessary. (blacklist?) I could not find rt73 in Synaptic so I have downloaded an rt73 so will try installing that when I can delete the old driver. Could e.vacchi explain what API is and how to fix it, bearing in mind the 'live' cd and also a fresh install of Hardy-a6 has the same problem. Cushie, the rt2500 is a module which is loaded into the kernel at boot time, they are roughly equivalent to drivers in windows. you can find out which modules are currently loaded on your machine by typing lsmod into a terminal you can remove modules manually at any time using rmmod (as root). example... to remove your rt2500 module. $sudo rmmod rt2500 you can insert a module using modprobe. $sudo modprobe rt2500 As you allude to, it is possible to stop a module being used at any time (including boot) by blacklisting it. To do this you need to edit the blacklist file which lives in the folder /etc/modprobe.d You can edit this with any text editor (gedit, nano etc...) , but need root level permissions to commit your changes. $sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist add these lines to the bottom of the file. #Cushie added these lines on 11th March #it is good practice to put in comments like this, and can save headaches if you wish to renove your changes #the loader will ignore any line with a hash sign at the start #here comes the line you need blacklist rt2500 #suggest you also blacklist the rt2500usb module blacklist rt2500usb now save and reboot. good luck. [Bug 147811] Re: Ubuntu 7.10 Wireless Interface WEP password login problem with Asus WL-167G Usb Wlan Adapter
Hi all, I'm having a very similar issue, and have solved it! I'm posting here in case it helps with the diagnosis for these issues. I have a brand new laptop, and the wireless card works right out of the box with the Gutsy Live CD. However, once installed, it doesn't work. I've studied the dmesg from both situations. My particular card loads two modules into the Kernel, namely rt75usb and rt2500usb. Live CD loads them in that order... and all is well. Hard Drive install loads them in the reverse order... and wireless is badly broken. A fix is to manually remove both and then re-install in the correct order i.e. (as root)] rmmod rt2500usb rmmod rt73usb modprobe rt73usb modprobe rt2500usb and all works perfectly - until the next re-boot :-( Neil. -- Ubuntu 7.10 Wireless Interface WEP password login problem with Asus WL-167G Usb Wlan Adapter https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/147811 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
