[Bug 1835660] Re: initramfs unpacking failed
I still see this message on a fully up-to-date Kubuntu 19.10 system. However the system boots fine and everything seems to be working ok. This is apparently a non-fatal error message? It sounds pretty bad but it still seems to have been able to load the initramfs image fine. [Bug 1770432] [NEW] kwalletd5 non-responsive at login, blocks wifi and other applications requiring passwords
Public bug reported: Upon login kwalletd5 seems to be in a non-responsive state. This blocks network-manager from connecting to wifi as well as any other applications that have passwords stored in kwallet. If you kill kwalletd5 it will respawn itself in working condition and immediately prompt to unlock the wallet. I've only been able to reproduce this on a wifi connected device not with Ethernet so there may be some connection to how kwallet interacts with network-manager on a wifi connection. Steps to reproduce: 1. Login on a wifi connected device 2. Kwallet never prompts to open the default wallet causing network-manager to not connect to the network and other applications (such as Kmail for example) to not work properly What I expect to happen: 1. Login and be prompted by kwallet to unlock the default wallet so applications can access saved passwords What happened instead: 1. Kwallet did not prompt to unlock the default wallet causing applications to not work because they can't access saved passwords. [Bug 1669649] Re: update-apt-xapian-index crashes with IndexError: list index out of range
It is still an issue on 17.10 but I discovered it seemed to have been triggered by a specific package in a local LAN repo I am using. Once I removed the package from the repo it stopped crashing. However, I have been unable to determine what exactly about the package was causing it to crash which I would still think is a bug as apt-xapian-index should probably handle bad packages more gracefully. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1669649 Title: update-apt-xapian-index crashes with IndexError: list index out of range To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt-xapian-index/+bug/1669649/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1565950] Re: Grub 2 fails to boot a kernel on a luks encrypted volume with Secure Boot enabled
Just encountered this problem when trying to setup a fully encrypted system. I rebuilt the grub2 package with the changes listed in the first comment and tested in VirtualBox in UEFI mode and it does work. You can't simply copy the modules to the ESP partition because it a) won't work with secure boot and b) grub seems to be hardcoded to try to load them from the /boot/grub/ directory which isn't accessible at that point in the boot process and there doesn't appear to be a way to specify them manually. [Bug 1485365] [NEW] Update libtorrent-rasterbar to latest 1.x release
Public bug reported: Ubuntu has an extremely old version of libtorrent-rasterbar. 0.16.8. The latest upstream release is 1.0.6. Some programs like qbittorrent require the 1.x version for certain features and builds against 1.x by default. The minimum version was recently bumped to 0.16.9 which makes it impossible to build qbittorrent now. The Ubuntu packages are not just a drop-in. They hook into DKMS which the Nvidia drivers themselves do not do. There's also a lot of other Ubuntu specific things that the package does. Looking at all these bugs they all have to do with the module failing to build with the Ubuntu package. I don't see any reports of the issue with Nvidia .run installer. On Thursday, January 15, 2015 08:29:12 PM Brian Norris wrote: The Ubuntu package is mostly just a drop-in of the official Nvidia packages for Linux: http://www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html So yes, this is actually an Nvidia upstream problem. I suspect that there is some sort of race condition in the provided build scripts written by Nvidia, and they are only showing up intermittently or under particular system configurations/states, so package reinstallation tends to work fine the second time. Related: I see this comment in Nvidia's Makefile regarding the new build system in Linux = 2.6: # The new approach currently has its own share of problems, some of which # are architectural difficulties with KBUILD, others minor annoyances. [Bug 1354924] Re: Networkmanager does not autoconnect to wireless network
I've got this same problem too. After doing a fresh boot and logging in, the wireless will not connect but it is listed in the plasma-nm connection list.
