[Bug 531235] Re: Lucid Alpha 3 Live CD goes to blank screen

2010-03-05 Thread Nico Veenkamp
Same happend to me. For some reason I was able to move on to the
installation menu and did a full install of Alpha 3. Then I updated with
the latest updates and did a restart. Now I am back looking at the black
screen with the underscore again.

This is with VirtualBox OSE 3.0.8 r53138

I can confirm this. It happened with me after the latest firefox2
update. 'Top' shows that firefox-bin consumes 90 plus % of CPU
resources. This is on a 1.8Ghz Pentium4 with 768Mb memory also with an
nvidia GPU.

[Bug 185172] [DAPPER] kernel update to 2.6.15.51 on server causes kernel panic

2008-01-22 Thread Nico Veenkamp
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.15

I did a dist-upgrade of my DAPPER LTS lamp server and it received also a
new kernel. After a reboot the server halted with a kernel panic due to
not enough memory for the RAMDISK. This is a system with 2Gb RAM.

[Bug 76801] Re: Democracyplayer crashes when I start it up

2007-01-14 Thread Nico Veenkamp
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 76493 ***

I don't know much about Python. The behaviour is the same in that I
cannot start Democracy. But the reason seems to be different.

So, if you want I can 'unduplicate' the bug, if you show me how to do
that, because it is no item on the menu. I may have insufficient
privileges to remove the duplication.

[Bug 78906] Shutdown automatically restarts

2007-01-12 Thread Nico Veenkamp
Public bug reported:

In Feisty (which I installed by upgrading first from Dapper to Edgy and
then to Feisty) when I click the shutdown button it does not shutdown
but does a restart. Restart also happens when I click the restart
button, which is expected behaviour so these two were not switched.

The behaviour of the shutdown button started to occur when Feisty went
from the .19 kernel to the .20 kernel. This is on an Acer Travelmate
4001wLMI.

[Bug 57435] [Edgy Eft]Manual partitioning not possible at installation

2006-08-23 Thread Nico Veenkamp
Public bug reported:

When I choose manual partitioning on my Acer Travelmate 4001 Laptop,
when installing Edgy Eft, the installer just hangs. I see the spinning
disc icon with only the cancel button active.

When I used the partitioner from the system menu to delete the relevant
partition I see in the installation dialog where you can decide how
tpartition your hard disc an extra option to use the free space. Even
when I select that option I can not get any further.

This bug is probably related to Bug#48319 but on request from Colin I
file it here as a separate bug.
