[Bug 728969] Re: Wireless connection very slow and weak on Natty Alpha 3

Hello,

This also affects me. I have a Samsung N220 netbook. On Lucid it works
perfectly, but on Natty I get really slow connection, even though the
bars appear to be fine.

Using cabled LAN works fast.

I'm attaching the nm-tool requested before. Please let me know if you
need anything else. Thanks!

[Bug 550591] [NEW] Output Connector doesn't work, it outputs always from both connectors

both monitors and enable both in TwinView. I click on Save to X
Configuration File and everything seems to work OK.

But when I log out and then log in, these preferences are lost, the VGA
monitor is the only screen visible, and I have to reconfigure it.

This was working perfectly on Karmic

[Bug 177235] Re: slow USB 2.0 drive: it's mounted as USB 1.0, not USB 2.0!

2010-03-03 Thread Nico_argentina
Same problem here (Ubuntu 9.10 x64).

I'm not a hardware expert, but I'll say my experience:

I see that it's like it starts to transfer really fast, and then it
slows down and down and down, I guess it has something to do with the
sync, as if I sync after transferring each file the overall result is
MUCH faster than transferring all at once.

Let's say I have to move 10 files of about 300 megs each. If i go to
nautilus and move them by selecting them all to the external HD file 1
transfers at 20mb/s and when it reaches file 3 the speed is 4mb/s. If I
cancel and unmount then it takes a lot of time (aprox 10 mins or more)
to unmount it.

On the other hand I created an script that simply does moves the files
syncing after each transfer:

while f=`ls | head -n1`
do
echo Moving $f
mv -v $f /media/NicoMB/Videos/
echo Syncing
sync
done

And this is wy faster! And unmount takes no time.

Please let me know if you need anything in order to help sort this out

[Bug 434251] Re: karmic: battery drains

2009-10-19 Thread Nico_argentina
I seem to have the same problem, the Update to this message you've sent I
think it's because the system has to learn how long your battery lasts before
giving accurate results.
But as for the bug you posted I'm running with the same problem. I have a Dell
XPS M1530. When I unplug the AC it goes from 100% to around 50% in one minute
and then start dropping normally, until 5% when I plug it again, so I have half
of the battery I had on Jaunty.

[Bug 434251] Re: karmic: battery drains

Maybe it has to do with the Capacity: I right-click on the battery

pretty sure in Jaunty the battery had much more duration

[Bug 365138] [NEW] Can't move freely the panels

2009-04-22 Thread Nico_argentina
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

In Jaunty RC the only way of moving the panels is with the Orientation dropdown
in the Properties of it. This is a problem because when you have a second
screen attached the only way of getting a Top panel on the second screen is
adding 4 more panels (the last one will appear on the second screen) and then
remove the unused ones.
This is really annoying, as every time I use a second screen I have to do this
process.

Yes, my recorder also, bur i don't think it's the same problem, as
with Audacity i am available to record OK (have to open the audio file
in another player because audacity doesn't seem to play it to me), but
anyways, i think that's a different story and the main problem here is
the low volume of the Mic (and also, didn't find the way to make the
external mic to work till this is solved)

[Bug 197288] Re: [hardy] new windows are put in background when a window has always on top set

2008-10-13 Thread Nico_argentina
This is also happening in Ubuntu Intrepid Beta, the workaround is also
the one proposed on
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/metacity/+bug/197288/comments/1

Should i report this bug as a new one for intrepid or is it ok to say it
here?

Thanks

I attach the files copied just after this happened.

I've found a workaround here:

http://kb.huptas.net/2008/02/21/ubuntu-804-hardy-heron-issues-w
-external-screen-and-intel-gma950-dell-latitude-d620/

That's exactly what's happening to me, i will try this solution.

[Bug 217804] [NEW] External screen goes BLACK or GRAY

2008-04-15 Thread Nico_argentina
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

I am using 8.04 and version 1:7.3+10ubuntu9 of xorg package.

I have a VAIO VGN-N250FH and i'm using an external Dell 22'' monitor,
with the laptop screen switched off from the Screen and Resolution
tool, i have Extra effects switched ON. From time to time without any
special pattern my screen gets completely GRAY or BLACK. Music still
working on the background but i'm unable to do anything else except
CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE to kill X, when the gdm restarts the screen remains
BLACK.

Once it went black when adding a tab to firefox, another time when
opening a menu in Rhythmbox, and another time when going to Next Song in
it.

I have an intel 950 card.
