Re: [Bug 1784170] Re: grub could not install on fresh ubuntu 18.04.1 ltcs install
Hello I'm not sure which level I can actually provide, so I reply my best Starting point : Only Ubuntu 16.04 lts 32 bits installed on system, all updates done the day before. PC : 500 GB HDD, 8 GB RAM, Intel® Core™ i3-2120 CPU @ 3.30GHz × 4 Partioning : Standard partition as per last install : 498 GB ext4 for system & data 1,8 Gb for swap 1.1 Mb unallocated What I did : - create Live USB with Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS - follow this link (method 1) https://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/reinstallation_ubuntu and also this one https://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=1668871 installation started, displayed some errors in the procedure, and eventually replied that GRUB could not be installed What I did this morning : - from the same Live USB, I chose to install above "partly installed 18.04", with data erasing, and it did succeed. Hope this helps. If not, just tell.
