Public bug reported: I have a dell inspiron 17r 7220 running Ubuntu 12.04 (3.2.0-35-generic). I can press the Fn+F4 and F5 keys to control the brightness backlight and see the graphical indicator change as I press the keys but the actual brightness doesn't change. I can also change the setting via System Settings > Brightness and Lock but that doesn't change the brightness either. 1) Description:Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS Release:12.04 2) unity: Installed: 5.18.0-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 5.18.0-0ubuntu1 Version table: *** 5.18.0-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise-updates/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 5.10.0-0ubuntu6 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/main amd64 Packages 3) I was expecting the brightness to change with what the graphical indicator was reporting 4) The indicator of brightness changed as I pressed the function keys but the actual brightness did not change. [Bug 1000193] Re: Text Size plugin for Gedit does not work properly
I am also encountering this exact issue as described above. Could this be occurring maybe due to another plugin capturing the key stroke or something? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1000193 Title: Text Size plugin for Gedit does not work properly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gedit-plugins/+bug/1000193/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 131626] Re: Sleep wakes up but screen is blank
I can confirm this for my Gutsy Gibbon Tribe 5. I am using the nvidia new glx restricted driver installed by the Restricted Drivers Manager. I am able to boot fine. If I enter sleep or let it go to sleep on its own it seems to be fine. Then when I go to wake it up nothing. I can see the hard drive working because my light is flashing. The only way to get it to work is by doing a hard reboot which when starts forces a disk check which fails. Then I have to manually run fsck to have it reset everything. If any other information is required I can submit it. I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 with a nvidia 7300 graphics card. -- Sleep wakes up but screen is blank https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/131626 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
