[Bug 664330] [NEW] Don't hide the option for removing the ubuntu one ribbon
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Hello, I upgraded to Maverick, to see a big red band on top of some of my folders saying that they are not synchronized with Ubuntu One. They look alarming, and take up a lot of rare vertical space. I tried clicking on them, but they give no hint on how to make them go away (except for synchronizing with Ubuntu one, I guess...) I looked through the view menu, and found no mention of this ribbon. I had to search forums in order to find that File-Ubuntu One-Hide Ribbon does it. Really, add a button on the ribbon to hide it. It doesn't smell well when a commercial product grabs so much attention and doesn't let me remove it. [Bug 599043] [NEW] Window list hover highlighting is confusing in Ambiance
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-themes-ubuntu Hello, This is a usability problem. I'm using the ambiance theme for over a month, and I keep finding myself clicking a window in the window list which is already active, thus minimizing it, instead of clicking the window I want to show. I think that this is because the highlighting a window button gets when the mouse hovers over it is much stronger than the highlighting a button has if its window has focus. This means that before clicking a button, since it is always highlighted, it's very hard to tell whether I'm going to show it (if it doesn't have focus) or hide it (if it has). It isn't obvious whether another button is highlighted, because focused and unfocused windows have roughly the same highlighting. I suggest to disable hover highlighting completely, and show clearly, using persistent highlighting, whether a window has the focus or not. Perhaps the color of the border or the text could be changed when the mouse hovers over a button, as long as it remains clear which window has the focus. I hope this can at least be checked. I'm really not a novice, so if I keep doing the same mistake over and over then maybe something is wrong about the design. [Bug 450779] Re: xorg freeze when starting firefox
Ok. I have a bunch of possibly related problems, and haven't yet managed to sort them out. Sometimes I get applet error messages (even after removing dropbox), and sometimes I don't. Sometimes opening firefox freezes the desktop, and sometimes it doesn't. As I reported, starting another application (terminal) has never caused a freeze. Starting firefox from the menu instead of by using the panel button hasn't caused a freeze. Starting firefox from the panel button after opening the window hasn't caused a freeze, but I haven't tried it a lot. *Perhaps* a freeze didn't happen when I disabled kernel mode setting, but I'm not sure. For now, I'll continue with no kernel mode setting and no dropbox. [Bug 164932] Re: Suggestion for a new keyboard map
Can you elaborate on what information is missing? vkeybd has a default keyboard map which isn't very efficient. I wrote another one. If you put it in ~/.vkeybdmap it gives you a better keyboard map. I suggest that it becomes the default one. ** Changed in: vkeybd (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid = New -- Suggestion for a new keyboard map https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/164932 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I just checked with Karmic. vkeybd includes the same default keymap which it had then. -- Suggestion for a new keyboard map https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/164932 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 450782] Re: [IBM 2371H4G] late resume failure
I managed to fix it! I did two relevant things. I don't know which did it. 1. I completely removed qemu and kqemu-source. 2. I added a file /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/resume with RESUME=UUID=uuid of swap device. -- [IBM 2371H4G] late resume failure https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/450782 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 450763] [NEW] problem when loading panel applets after boot without login screen
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel Hello, I just upgraded to karmic. [Bug 450779] [NEW] xorg freeze when starting firefox
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox-3.5 Hello, After upgrading to Karmic, when I login I see a lot of error messages about panel applets not being loaded (see bug #450763).
