I would not mark this issue as invalid, because I had this problem as well and finally my system became even unusable (which is very bad since I have to use it for my work). So, I had to re-install Kubuntu 9.10 and everything runs fine now. Since this issue and a few other problems occurred after upgrading from 9.04 (Jaunty) to 9.10 (Karmic), I think that it is caused by a bug in the (dist-)upgrade procedure. [Bug 483429] [NEW] Long waiting time after resume from suspend-to-RAM
Public bug reported: The problem started after upgrading from Kubuntu-jaunty to kubuntu- karmic. After resume from suspend-to-RAM, I have to wait a very long time (approx. 1 minute) until can I do anything, because the computer is reacting neither to the mouse nor to the keyboard. This happend on a Lenovo ThinkPad T400 (with intel graphics). I did not find anything suspicious in /var/log/pm-suspend.log. On another computer (Dell Latitude D630, intel graphics), the same problem occurred also after upgrading from Kubuntu-jaunty to Kubuntu- karmic. However, on this computer, I found the line /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/99video resume suspend : Returned exit code 1. in /var/log/pm-suspend.log. [Bug 483359] Re: scheduled fsck crashes preventing bootup
Is it possible that this bug is somehow related to the bug that I reported as bug #483429 ? -- scheduled fsck crashes preventing bootup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/483359 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 297976] Re: kmail: cannot sign emails after upgradind to intrepid ibex
Thanks for the hint. pinentry-qt was indeed not installed. However, installing this did not solve the problem :-( Following the instructions on http://developer.gauner.org/kmail-pgpmime/index.en.html (suggested above by Volker Lanz) also did not solve the problem: $ echo test | gpg -ase -r 0xDEADBEEF | gpg works but kmail still does not ask for a passphrase :-( :-( :-( -- kmail: cannot sign emails after upgradind to intrepid ibex https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/297976 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 297976] Re: kmail: cannot sign emails after upgradind to intrepid ibex
I have the same problem on another computer where Intrepid Ibex has been newly installed (no upgrade): Kmail does not ask for a passphrase and hence, I cannot sign my emails :-( Is there a workaround until this bug has been fixed? -- kmail: cannot sign emails after upgradind to intrepid ibex https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/297976 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdepim in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

It works great! Anyway, I hope a KDE4 version of KDiff3 (or -- preliminary -- the old KDE3 version and libkonq4_3.5.9) will be added to the universe repository for Intrepid soon. [Bug 280762] Re: knetworkmanager under kde4 doesn't recognize the static IP connections that I have configured.
Frank wrote: Try editing /etc/NetworkManager/nm-system-settings.conf. In section [ifupdown], set managed=true. Thank you, Frank, for posting this solution. It works great! I suggest that the Ubuntu team should change the default setting of managed to true. Or does this have any undesirable side effects? [Bug 296223] Re: annoying dialog appears Monitor setup has changed kde4
I have noticed the same bug on my computer after upgrading from Hardy Heron to Intrepid Ibex. It is really annoying and it happens randomly (often twice in quick succession). Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kdepim After upgrading my Kubuntu to from Hardy Heron to Intrepid Ibex (KDE 3.5.10 - KDE 4.1.2), I cannot sign emails any more. [Bug 251649] Re: Firefox: Address line does not work
I have a very similar problem: Sometimes when I write or copy a URL into the address field and then press ENTER, Firefox does not react. I have to close and restart Firefox to get rid of this problem. In contrast to Björn, this problem occurs only from time to time on my machines, I do not have many add-ons installed, and there is no output on the “Error Console” (“Fehlerkonsole”) when I press ENTER. I have noticed this on three different machines. All have Kubuntu 8.04 installed (one update from older Kubuntus, two fresh installs). This morning I have updated Firefox 3.0 to version 3.0.1 using the usual Kubuntu update procedure, but I this problem occurred again. -- Firefox: Address line does not work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/251649 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
