[Bug 1309076] Re: Chromium-custom title bar corrupt after maximize
I'm still seeing this behaviour on 18.04 LTS in both chromium and google-chrome. To workaround the issue, visit chrome://flags/ and search for "partial". An option called "Partial swap" should appear, with a flag called "#ui- disable-partial-swap". Set the associated dropdown to say "Disabled". Then press "Restart" and let the browser restart itself. Then visit chrome://gpu/ and verify that the last item in the first table under "Version Information" is "Command Line", and than "--ui-disable-partial- swap" appears in the list of commandline options. For me this doesn't fix 100% of the problem, but makes it much better -- when maximizing the browser window, there isn't garbage at the top of the window. On restoring the window, the problem (or a similar problem) is still there, but simply mousing over it makes it go away; unlike before, I don't need to run the mouse over sections of the window trying to get it to repaint the whole width of the corrput area. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1309076 Title: Chromium-custom title bar corrupt after maximize To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/chromium-browser/+bug/1309076/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1766837] Re: Multiload Indicator Applet "Network Activity" graphical corruption
I have the same issue, however, looking closely at the color preferences for the network monitor, there is one called "gridlines" which corresponds to the horizontal lines in the applet display. Presumably the authors wanted a way to show changes in the scaling (vertical units) and decided on adding these gridlines. So, one way to resolve most of the visual annoyance would be the option to make the lines have an alpha channel, i.e. the user can opt to make them transparent. I have the same issue as the original poster, that the network monitor applet display often shows a block of blue (or some other color that has no business being there) in the monitor area. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1766837 Title: Multiload Indicator Applet "Network Activity" graphical corruption To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mate-applets/+bug/1766837/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1166125] Re: Broken fonts for Gtk based applications
This package was somehow auto-installed in a release upgrade today from 14.04 to 14.10, and cost me most of the day trying to figure out why everything in X was glitchy and crashing. The terminal looked like http://askubuntu.com/questions/285836/letter-spacing-in-gnome-terminal Even xterm would crash on ctrl-right-click, and these badly-spaced strange characters appeared in almost every terminal emulator (xterm worked, except for its menus). Font selection dialogs ground the computer to a halt, and even the window manager titlebars were in a wonky font. Yet, something was showing, so it was a lot of work to investigate the entire stack of X11, Xft, fontconfig, freetype, pango, gtk, etc to find what component was bad. sudo apt-get purge pango-graphite solved the problem. No idea how that package got installed, but it's removal fixed everything immediately. [Bug 960728] [NEW] installation of Libreoffice-wiki-publisher hangs apt front end

Upgrading packages (e.g. apt-get upgrade) completely failed -- all the front ends I tried hung (apt-get, aptitude, and the gui system update). No error message was given. I forgot to mention that it doesn't matter if the always on top setting is used on any window. [Bug 549552] Re: [lucid] solid colour BG is transparent
I was proposing to make the background tab work just like this (Use background settings from system theme). I'm not sure of how else to do implement this when there are 2 sources for the background configuration (gconf and gtkrc), without making it very fragile. The issue I have is trying to work out where to take the configuration from (eg, if the user selects transparent, should the transparency be set to the value of the slider, or the value in the theme?) This makes a lot of sense. The connection to the theme is really not obvious at present. -- [lucid] solid colour BG is transparent https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/549552 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 215576] [NEW] icewm doesn't show clock or battery status
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: icewm Using 'icewm 1.2.33-1ubuntu2' on Hardy (2.6.24-8-generic and 2.6.24-15-generic kernels) the taskbar doesn't respect the 'TaskBarShowClock=1' directive in ~/.icewm/preferences -- no clock is shown. This occurs whether using a selected font or using the simulated LCD font (both TaskBarClockLeds=0 and TaskBarClockLeds=1 give the same results). I suspect this might be a font issue since the battery meter also fails to display. I thought this may be some bios/acpi issue due to the power meter not showing, but 'cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/state', acpi(1), and other gui programs seem fine. Probably also unrelated, the mail icon fails to show up for 'icewm 1.2.33-1ubuntu2' (probably a theme issue). Downgrading to 1.2.30-1ubuntu1 solves the problem, taskbar battery meter and clock display normally. ** Affects: icewm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- icewm doesn't show clock or battery status https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/215576 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 136308] Sound doesn't work on ATI SB450 HDA Audio using 2.6.20-16 kernel (but 2.6.20-15 works fine)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.20 Installed ubuntu on gateway mt6452 laptop. Kernel version linux-image-2.6.20-15-generic. Sound worked fine. Performed update which got new linux-image-2.6.20-16-generic from the security archive. Sound stopped working -- my programs still saw the sound device and would get valid data back from the audio device, but no sound plays from the speakers or line out. Reverted to linux-image-2.6.20-15-generic, audio works again. [Bug 73913] looks for help docs in wrong place
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: esvn The package looks for help documentation in /usr/share/doc/esvn/html- docs, wheres esvn-doc installs them in /usr/share/doc/esvn-doc/html- docs -- so by default nothing comes up. Of course this can be fixed by ln -fs /usr/share/doc/esvn-doc/html-docs /usr/share/doc/esvn, but the package should just look in the correct place in the first place. ** Affects: esvn (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- looks for help docs in wrong place https://launchpad.net/bugs/73913 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 73920] cream looks for help docs in the wrong place
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: cream Start cream, go to menu to open help. It doesn't work. Now run sudo ln -fs /usr/share/doc/cream/html /usr/share/vim/cream /docs-html, and the help system works. This is because cream looks in the latter directory, rather than the former one (where the files are installed to). ** Affects: cream (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- cream looks for help docs in the wrong place https://launchpad.net/bugs/73920 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 71053] hddtemp in edgy doesn't work with ksensors
Public bug reported: As a regular user, setting the sticky bit on `which hddtemp` gives access to the drive temperature, which can be conveniently displayed in ksensors. The versions in Dapper work fine. In Edgy, the hddtemp program doesn't work with either the old or new ksensors program, however downgrading hddtemp to Dapper solves the problem. This may be a problem that the output format has changed and ksensors needs to update its parsing of hddtemp output. ** Affects: hddtemp (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- hddtemp in edgy doesn't work with ksensors https://launchpad.net/bugs/71053 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
