[Bug 1578201] Re: ampache does not work on xenial/php7

2016-07-12 Thread Ole Wolf
The fix allows me to login but browsing the music catalog (whether
browsing artists, song titles, or albums) reports "Not enough data."

However, the MySQL database is updated. Clicking, e.g., Random Album
populates the playlist with a random album, and searching for artists
returns valid results.

I'm not sure if this is related to this bug. (I've tried to delete the
catalog and re-add it but this doesn't change anything.) There's nothing
in the Apache error log.

[Bug 1210380] Re: package mysql-server-5.5 5.5.32-0ubuntu0.12.04.2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2013-08-09 Thread Ole Wolf
The fix proposed by GĂ©rald ibn step 9 worked for me, too.

I'm not sure there's actually invalid SQL in the postinst file as Lars
suggests, because multiple MySQL queries can be added on the same line
as long as they're separated by ';' as is the case in the script.

[Bug 1038733] [NEW] LDAP address book doesn't search LDAP server

2012-08-19 Thread Ole Wolf
Public bug reported:

When I add an LDAP address book, Evolution won't search the database.

I've entered the following information for the address book:

The Server field contains crtdir.certifikat.dk, and the port is 389.
I've specified an insecure connection (that is, without SSL or TLS) and
anonymous login. The login field is left empty. In the details tab, the
search base is c=DK, and the search tree is specified as subtree. The
search filter is left empty.

The above LDAP server answers queries that are performed from the
command line; for example:

  ldapsearch -x -h crtdir.certifikat.dk -b c=DK
mail=w...@blazingangles.com

will return its search results for the email address
w...@blazingangles.com.

For debugging, I set up an LDAP server on my own computer. According to
the LDAP debug log set to max debugging level, evolution doesn't even
seem to attempt to connect to the LDAP server.

This bug has been reported in the past, but unfortunately the developers
have let the bugs expire:

[Bug 885573] [NEW] nemid request for packaging

2011-11-03 Thread Ole Wolf
Public bug reported:

[needs-packaging] nemid

nemid is a client for installing the so-called NemID certificate. NemID
is a mandatory authentication service for accessing public web sites in
Denmark. It also includes a certificate that you can use to sign or
encrypt messages. Linux support is rather poor and requires a large
number of manual steps, as well as manually overwriting system files.
The nemid package automates several of the steps and avoids overwriting
system files.

[Bug 798571] Re: php5-auth-pam obsolete

2011-10-17 Thread Ole Wolf
Work-around:

Install the PECL version using sudo pecl install pam without removing
php5-auth-pam. The build may require some build libraries to be
installed, libpam0g-dev being one of them.

Then, remove the module in /etc/php5/conf.d/pam_auth.ini by prepending
it with a ';' (semicolon, without quotes). Create a new file in the same
directory named pam.ini with the contents: extension=pam.so (without
quotes). Restart the web server.

The above workaround may be overwritten whenever php5-pam-auth is
updated, but since it appears to be unmaintained, this isn't likely to
happen too often.

[Bug 875961] [NEW] tigercron script fails on Linux 3.0

2011-10-16 Thread Ole Wolf
Public bug reported:

Starting /usr/sbin/tigercron on a 3.0 kernel produces the following
output:

$ sudo /usr/sbin/tigercron
Configuring...

[Bug 848749] [NEW] Echo isn't cancelled

2011-09-13 Thread Ole Wolf
Public bug reported:

Ekiga produces an audible echo even if the echo cancellation setting is
enabled, so it seems there's a problem with the echo canceller.

Details: I've setup Ekiga to use my USB webcam's built-in microphone as
input device and the loudspeakers as output sound device. This obviously
causes the microphone to pick up any sound produced by the dialled
party. True, when I call the Ekiga echo test, my voice is played back
with a very audible echo. There seems to be no difference whether I
check the echo cancellation checkbox in the Ekiga preferences.

Workaround: Headphones can be used as a workaround. However, in the many
cases when I'm not working as Satan's henchman and is required to greet
people with Bow down to your new master! in an ominous voice, I'd
prefer to be able to use Ekiga without having to resort to a headset.

[Bug 803331] Re: LDAP address book doesn't connect to LDAP server

2011-06-29 Thread Ole Wolf
I've attempted to setup an LDAP address book on another Ubuntu computer
running Natty i386. Again, I can't connect to an LDAP server.

[Bug 803331] Re: LDAP address book doesn't connect to LDAP server

2011-06-29 Thread Ole Wolf
No, it's an unencrypted connection.

I almost suspected the firewall, but I'm able to add new entries to the
LDAP address book via Evolution, and Evolution also recognizes the
search base. It's only when I attempt to search the directory that
nothing appears to happen.

[Bug 255228] Re: Disabling the suspend and hibernate locks via gconf-editor doesn't do anything (from Intrepid to lucid included)

2011-06-21 Thread Ole Wolf
On Natty, if I suspend my computer after having disabled the suspend and
hibernate locks via gconf-editor as described in the bug description,
I'm no longer asked for a password after waking up from suspend.
However, on waking up from hibernate, I still have to enter the
password.

[Bug 434835] Re: unattended-upgrades hangs system on shutdown

2010-10-24 Thread Ole Wolf
After upgrading from Lucid netbook remix to Maverick on an MSI Wind U135
netbook, I'm seeing this bug, too. The bug also appeared after a fresh
install of Maverick on the same netbook.

[Bug 434835] Re: unattended-upgrades hangs system on shutdown

2010-10-24 Thread Ole Wolf
Trying to debug, it turns out it may not be the unattended upgrades
shutdown check on my computer after all; it just happens to be at this
stage where the real hang occurs. Specifically, the wireless network
card seems to be the culprit, not the unattended upgrades script.

[Bug 658197] Re: upgrade to 10.10 breaks login if using pam_encfs

2010-10-12 Thread Ole Wolf
I had converted an originally unencrypted home directory on 10.04 to an
encrypted home directory using the guide at:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/EncryptedHomeFolder. My recent upgrade to 10.10
caused the error described here.

Temporary work-around: Manually downgrading util-linux to 2.16 and
downgrading mount to the previous release (i.e., downloading via the
repository pools and installing with dkpg) reenabled the encrypted home
folder on login. I assume it was the util-linux downgrade and not the
mount downgrade that helped.

[Bug 137858] Re: Error on installing dante-server package

2008-11-27 Thread Ole Wolf
I can confirm that this is also a problem in Kubuntu 8.10. On apt-get
install, I get an output that is similar to the one reported by
icorbett. In addition, it appears that /etc/danted.conf isn't created.
